So you keep the image up. Fake wins. Polished posts. A life curated for likes while your phone’s on airplane mode to dodge M-Pesa requests.

You’re not exhausted from work. You’re exhausted from the performance of work.

And it’s your ego that’s bleeding you dry.

You won’t ask for help because you don’t want to look clueless.

You won’t post your services because you don’t want to seem desperate. You won’t start small because you don’t want people to see you trying.

So you stay stuck.

Quietly broke. Publicly proud.

But here’s the thing: the people winning? They started desperate. They looked clueless. They sounded cringe.

And they posted anyway.

You think silence protects your image. But it’s just delaying your growth.

Drop the act. Embrace the awkward. Be seen building before you’re booming.

Because the hustle won’t kill you but your ego will.

Bro to bro

Not Everyone You Cut Off Was Toxic. Some of Them Were Just Tired of Your Nonsense.

Every other day I see people saying “I’m cutting people off.”
“I’m blocking toxic energy.”
“I’m protecting my peace.”
Sawa. Good for you. But here’s my question:

Are they really the problem? Or are you just allergic to accountability?

Because some of you aren’t cutting people off for your peace —
You’re cutting people off because you can’t handle being told the truth.

Your aunt tells you you’re rude—block.
Your brother tells you you’ve changed—cut off.
Your friend says you’re becoming lazy and reckless—toxic energy, unawachana na yeye.

Let me say this:
Maybe you’re not the victim. Maybe you’re the villain in someone’s story.

Some people corrected you.
They called you out.
They told you you’re slacking.
That you gossip too much.
That you drink too much.
That you’re always playing victim.
Instead of listening, you labeled them toxic.

Now uko kwa nyumba pekee yako, umebaki na dog na paka.
Hakuna mtu wa kukupigia. Hakuna mtu wa kukushauri.
Unasema it’s peace — but honestly, it’s isolation.

You’ve built a wall to keep people out—but also locked yourself inside.

Before you cut someone off… ask:
🟧 What did they actually do?
🟧 Did they disrespect me — or just challenge me?
🟧 Did they criticize me — or did they confront something I needed to fix?

Self-awareness is a weapon.
Use it before you lose people who actually cared enough to tell you the truth.

Stop cutting people off just because you can’t handle a mirror.
Think about that.
