WORLD LIVER DAY AWARENESS
Your liver is one of the most vital organs in the body, working alongside the heart and kidneys to maintain overall health. It plays a key role in digestion, detoxification, and metabolism.
However, several conditions can affect liver function, including infections such as Hepatitis A, B, and C, as well as lifestyle-related issues like alcoholism, which may lead to cirrhosis. Other causes include fatty liver disease and genetic factors.
Today, as we mark World Liver Day, we advocate for healthy lifestyles and effective ways to protect and preserve liver health.
We urge every parent to seek medical attention promptly when signs and symptoms of liver disease appear. These may include:
Fatigue
Abdominal pain
Nausea
Jaundice (yellowing of eyes and skin)
Swelling
Dark urine
Early diagnosis is essential to identify the type and cause of liver disease and to ensure effective treatment. Hepatitis can be severe if left untreated, and children are particularly vulnerable to infections that may lead to liver damage.
As a pediatric hospital, we take this matter with utmost seriousness. We provide vaccination services to protect children against hepatitis infections. To improve access, our immunization clinics are now available twice a week: Mondays and Fridays.
Protect your child. Act early. Seek care.
Prevention Tips:
Get vaccinated against Hepatitis A and B
Maintain proper hygiene and sanitation
Ensure a balanced, healthy diet
Encourage regular physical activity
Attend routine medical check-ups
Use medications and herbal supplements only under medical guidance
Handle chemicals like cleaning agents and insecticides with care and proper ventilation
Let us work together to safeguard our children from preventable diseases and ensure a healthier future.
Healthy Liver, Healthy Life.
