Hello Monday!!!
Let’s talk about preparing for your diagnostic exams.
Do you know what’s needed from you to get the most accurate results?
These quick prep tips ensure your images come out clear and your visit goes smoothly.
1. Carry your previous medical records
This includes past scans, reports, prescriptions, and any referral notes from your doctor.
2. Follow fasting instructions (if required)
Some scans—especially abdominal ultrasounds and certain CT exams—may require 4–6 hours of fasting.
3. Hydrate or have a full bladder when instructed
Pelvic and obstetric ultrasounds often need a full bladder for clearer images.
4. Remove jewelry and metal items
Metal can interfere with X-rays, CT, and MRI imaging, so it’s best to leave valuables at home.
5. Wear comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing
You may be asked to change into a gown depending on the scan.
6. Inform the team if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy
Essential for safety, especially before X-ray and CT imaging.
7. Mention any allergies
Especially if you have a history of contrast allergies used in CT/MRI scans.
8. Arrive a little earlier
Gives time for registration and preparation without feeling rushed.
9. Ask questions if unsure
Your imaging team is there to guide you through the process comfortably.
