RECOMMEND HAY FEEDING RATIO FOR FAIRY COWS (Tamia Feeds Guide) 🐄🌾

For healthy milk production and good body condition, feed hay in the right proportion depending on the cow’s weight and production stage.

General Rule
- A dairy cow should eat 2–3% of her body weight in dry matter per day.

Practical Hay Ratio
For an average dairy cow (400–500 kg):
- Hay: 8–12 kg per day
- This equals about 1 bale (15–20 kg) per cow per day, depending on bale size and hay quality.

When Feeding Hay with Other Feeds
If you are combining hay with concentrates or silage:
- Hay: 60–70%
- Concentrates / supplements: 30–40%

Example per day:
- Hay: 8–10 kg
- Dairy meal / supplements: 4–6 kg
- Clean water: Always free access
- Mineral lick: Available at all times
