AMREF Flying Doctors is the leading provider of fixed-wing air ambulance services in Africa, with over 65 years of experience in the aeromedical transport industry Patients can also be repatriated to Europe, Asia and North America by Air Ambulance jet or a medical escort provided on commercial carriers. With a fleet of 18 aircraft available to AMREF Flying Doctors for their Air Ambulance Service, patients can be evacuated from anywhere on the African continent to anywhere in the world.

Over the past week, our teams responded to medical evacuations and provided standby cover under the 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻, supporting individuals, travellers, and schools when medical care was needed.

The missions included evacuations for 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 and 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 clients, as well as medical standby support for school sports days through 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿.

Yesterday, AMREF Flying Doctors held a major Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in Mwihoko, Ruiru Sub-County, bringing together government leaders, partners, and community members for a day centered on health, education, and community wellbeing.

The highlight of the CSR Day was the commitment to 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 at 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝘆𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, expanding learning space and strengthening the school’s learning environment for current and future students.

The event also included 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵, 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀, and 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, all delivered in partnership with supporting organisations.

This initiative reflects the continued long-term commitment by 𝗔𝗠𝗥𝗘𝗙 𝗙𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 and the belief in building lasting impact through health, education, and partnership.

Last week was yet another busy and successful week for AMREF Flying Doctors, delivering medical evacuations and repatriations across Africa and beyond.

When calls come in and time is critical, our teams move fast to ensure patients receive life-saving care right when they need it most. From Air Ambulance missions and Ground Ambulance transfers to Maisha client evacuations and international repatriations, we supported patients across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somaliland, Eritrea, Cameroon, and Sweden, among other regions.

One of the transfers included a repatriation back home to Sweden after a long hospitalisation in Nairobi, carefully coordinated with full medical oversight to ensure the patient travelled safely and comfortably throughout the journey.

Every mission reflects our unwavering commitment to safety, speed, and clinical excellence. With experienced medical teams and strict adherence to international medical transport standards, we ensure seamless coordination from departure to arrival.

A critically ill premature infant was safely evacuated from Somalia to Nairobi aboard our air ambulance, supported by a specialised neonatal transport medical team and the latest state-of-the-art life-support equipment, including a neonatal incubator, ensuring continuous critical care throughout the journey.

This mission reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering lifesaving care to the most vulnerable patients, wherever they may be.
