Training Update | Exploring Social Support in Treatment Planning.

Our Founder and Lead Director Habiba C N Mohamed is currently facilitating a powerful session on integrating social support into treatment planning for women affected by childbirth injuries.
Because recovery does not end in the operating theatre.

Participants are examining how family support systems, economic stability, community reintegration, and psychosocial care influence healing outcomes. A woman’s environment plays a critical role in her long-term recovery and treatment plans must reflect that reality.

At WADADIA–Habibat Hospital, we believe comprehensive care means addressing medical, emotional and social dimensions together.

These discussions reinforce a simple truth: obstetric fistula is preventable.
Through this training, WADADIA continues to strengthen health systems by equipping providers not only with surgical skills, but with prevention strategies that protect women before complications occur.

Dr. A. Wanjala, our Medical Advisor, Obstetrician-Gynaecologist and Fistula Surgeon, is guiding participants through a critical clinical session on:

• Comprehensive client history taking
• Proper and respectful physical examination
• Clear communication of diagnosis and treatment options
These skills are the backbone of safe surgery and quality outcomes.

Ahead of the HER Dignity Free Surgical Camp, Women And Development Against Distress In Africa(WADADIA) is training healthcare providers on holistic care for childbirth injuries. Because safe surgery must be backed by psychosocial support, strong referrals and dignified follow-up. Quality care starts with preparation.

We had a sit-down with WADADIA-Habibat Clinical Officer, Mr. James Sasaka, and he shared a glimpse of the ongoing free surgical camp.

This week has been filled with courage, hope, and remarkable transformation as women from different counties arrive seeking healing after years of pain, stigma and isolation.
Our medical team, nurses and psychosocial support team continue to work with unwavering dedication to restore dignity, one smile, one repaired injury, one woman at a time. 💛
