The Night That Was ✨

At our 1st Anniversary celebration, our Founder and Lead Director Habiba C N Mohamed took a heartfelt moment to thank everyone who has walked this journey with us from friends of Wadadia, the Rotary Club of Malindi, our incredible surgeons who give their time and skill for safe, quality reconstructive repairs, our dedicated anesthetists, the entire theatre team, and our amazing clinical staff.

She proudly awarded certificates to team members who completed training in holistic care and treatment for childbirth and pelvic floor injuries. A special spotlight shone on our very own theatre nurse, Prince Ekadeli Joshua for his exemplary work. 👏

At Wadadia Habitat, we remain steadfast in our mission to restore dignity. We are close to achieving our 2025 goal offering 300 high-quality repairs by the end of the year.

Today, we turn ONE 🥳

Exactly one year ago, we opened our doors at WADADIA-Habibat Mother and Child Holistic Health And Training Hospital with a heartfelt promise to put women’s dignity, safety and well-being at the very center of everything we do.

Today, our hearts are full as we celebrate that promise in action.

From the very beginning, our Founder and Lead Director Habiba C N Mohamed the visionary behind both Women And Development Against Distress In Africa(WADADIA) and Wadadia Habitat Hospital, has led with deep compassion, humility and an unwavering commitment to women’s health. Her dream built this hospital. Her love and leadership keep it alive.

This anniversary brought together powerful stories. Women treated during our launch shared their journeys. Those who have recently healed celebrated having their dignity restored. Women still in our care found comfort in knowing they are not alone. Those awaiting their surgeries looked ahead with hope in their eyes.

Our clinical team and lead surgeons Dr. Anthony Wanjala, Dr. Daniel Oluach and Dr. John Omboga, along with our dedicated anesthetists and nurses, shared their reflections from the wards and the theatres. Their skill, dedication and humanity have been the heartbeat of this first year.

We shared speeches, warm meals, cake and moments of pure joy. We celebrated not just a year of service, but a year of lives changed and hope renewed.

Here’s to another year of healing, hope and restoring dignity for every woman who walks through our doors.

At WADADIA-Habibat Mother and Child Holistic Health And Training Hospital, patients are at the heart of everything we do.

This week, our wards are filled with healing and hope as we continue offering free, safe, and quality reconstructive surgeries to women battling childbirth and pelvic floor injuries.

Through compassionate care, psychosocial support, and expert surgical interventions led by renowned fistula specialists and Obstetrics Gynecologists, we are restoring dignity, one woman at a time.

💛 We are firmly on track to reach our goal of supporting 300 women by the end of 2025.

Training Complete. Healing Begins.

In partnership with our sister organization Women And Development Against Distress In Africa(WADADIA) we hosted a weeklong training on holistic care and treatment for childbirth and pelvic floor injuries.

The training brought together healthcare professionals and community-based providers to strengthen capacity around:

✓The components of holistic care

✓The client care pathway

✓Preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care

✓Reintegration support for women post-repair

✓Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for clients and healthcare workers

✓Community engagement and awareness creation

As the training concludes, it ushered in the start of a free surgical camp a direct, compassionate response to the urgent needs of women living with childbirth-related injuries such as obstetric fistula and other pelvic floor conditions.

We are now admitting over 80 women who will receive free reconstructive surgery, holistic support, and post-operative care.

This marks a critical step toward our shared mission: to repair and restore dignity to at least 300 women by the end of 2025.

Together, with our partners and communities, we are making healing possible.

“I feel like myself again!”

These were the words of Agnes Hariri, a 41-year-old mother of 4, after having fibroids successfully removed during our free surgical inreach at WADADIA-Habibat Mother and Child Holistic Health And Training Hospital.

Agnes had battled excessive bleeding, which led to anemia and deeply affected her physical, emotional, and social well-being.
