🇰🇪🎉 Celebrating Madaraka Day with Community Care!🎉🇰🇪

Yesterday, Huruma Lions Health Centre had the privilege of celebrating Madaraka Day by hosting a medical camp at the DCC grounds, organized by Hon. AnthonAnthony T. Oluochf Mathare. It was an incredible day dedicated to serving our community with love and care. 🏥❤️

We were joined by wonderful organizations like Amref, Amref Health Africa in KenyangShining Hope for Communitiesny more, working together to provide comprehensive healthcare services. 🙌🌟

At our camp, we offered a variety of essential services:

🇬🇧🦁 Yesterday was an incredible day for us here at Huruma Lions! We were honored to host the UK Ambassador to Kenya, along with representatives from UNICEF and the The Ministry of Health, as they visited our community to assess the impact of the floods.

Following the visit, we joined forces with the UK in Kenya British High Commissioner Neil Wigan, UNICEF Kenya Kenya Red Cross Society Save the Children Kenya World Vision Kenya and officials from both County and National government to provide support to the families affected by the floods. Together, we distributed essential items such as soaps, dignity kits, and other home-use items to the 179 households camping at Masinde Muliro Grounds in Mathare.

At the IDP camp, we worked tirelessly alongside the Ministry of Health and UNICEF to offer vital services including safe water, health promotion, cash transfers, family tracing, sanitation facilities, and more to the displaced families.

We're immensely grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such esteemed partners and extend our support to those in need during this challenging time. Together, we're making a real difference in the lives of our community members affected by the floods. 🌊💙

This week, we had the privilege of working hand in hand with Amref Kenya at Valley Bridge Primary School, Mathare, P.A.G, and Mukuru Kwa Reuben, delivering crucial health interventions to our communities affected by floods. From routine immunization to antenatal care services, NCDs screening, and pediatric care, Amref Kenya has been at the forefront, ensuring even in the face of adversity.
