First Aider Course Outline (1 Month)

Week 1: Introduction to First Aid & Basic Life Support

Day 1-2:

Principles of first aid

Roles & responsibilities of a first aider

Legal & ethical issues in first aid

Personal safety and infection control (hand hygiene, PPE, universal precautions)

Day 3-4:

Primary survey (DRABC: Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation)

Secondary survey (head-to-toe examination)

Recovery position

Day 5:

Basic Life Support (BLS) – adult, child, infant

CPR with and without AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

Choking management (Heimlich maneuver)

Week 2: Medical Emergencies

Day 1-2:

Fainting, shock, seizures, stroke

Heart attack and angina

Asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetic emergencies

Day 3-4:

Heat stroke, heat exhaustion, hypothermia

Poisoning (ingestion, inhalation, bites & stings)

Burns and scalds

Day 5:

Practical scenarios: responding to medical emergencies

Case studies & simulations

Week 3: Trauma & Injury Management

Day 1-2:

Wounds and bleeding (control, bandaging, dressing)

Nosebleeds, eye injuries, dental injuries

Soft tissue injuries (sprains, strains, bruises)

Day 3-4:

Fractures and dislocations (immobilization techniques)

Head, neck, and spinal injuries (log roll, stabilization)

Chest and abdominal injuries

Day 5:

Practical drills on wound care, splinting, and bleeding control

Week 4: Special Considerations & Final Assessment

Day 1-2:

First aid in special situations (drowning, electrocution, road traffic accidents)

First aid kit contents & usage

Communication and documentation in first aid

Day 3-4:

Practical simulations (combining medical & trauma scenarios)

Teamwork in emergencies

Stress management for first aiders

Day 5:

Final assessment: Written test + practical skills evaluation

Review & feedback session

Certification ceremony

Emergency medical technician......1 year training 3 months clinical rotation
Diploma paramedic..........2 to 3yrs with clinical rotation
Degree in paramedic.......4 to 5yrs with clinical rotation and internship.

This Diploma in emt is creation. Emt should end at certificate level.
