International Maternal and Neonatal Care Health Conference & Africa Parliamentary Benchmarking Visit to Jumuia Hospitals.
The International Maternal and Neonatal Care Health Conference served as a strategic platform uniting healthcare leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders across Africa to accelerate progress toward safe motherhood and zero preventable maternal and neonatal mortality. Central to this agenda was the recognition of institutions demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality maternal and newborn care.
Among the distinguished institutions, Jumuia Hospitals emerged as a benchmark of excellence in Kenya’s healthcare sector. In acknowledgment of its outstanding clinical outcomes and commitment to safe delivery practices, Jumuia Hospitals was honored with the Best Hospital in Maternal and Neonatal Healthcare Services Delivery Award 2025.
This recognition underscores the hospital’s consistent investment in quality care, patient safety, and innovative maternal and neonatal health interventions.
Following this achievement, Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK), a key partner and umbrella body for faith-based health institutions, facilitated a high-level Africa Parliamentary Benchmarking Visit to Jumuia Hospitals. The delegation, composed of parliamentary representatives from across the continent, sought to gain firsthand insight into the hospital’s successful care models, operational excellence, and best practices that have contributed to improved maternal and neonatal outcomes.
During the visit, Jumuia Hospitals showcased its integrated approach to maternal and newborn care—anchored on skilled healthcare personnel, evidence-based clinical protocols, community engagement, and continuous quality improvement systems. The hospital’s initiatives, including the Safe Health Birth Initiative and the Healthy Baby Initiative, were highlighted as transformative programs driving safer deliveries, healthier newborns, and reduced mortality rates.
This benchmarking engagement not only positioned Jumuia Hospitals as a center of excellence and learning hub but also reinforced the importance of collaborative partnerships in strengthening health systems across Africa. The visit inspired knowledge exchange and encouraged the replication of effective models in other countries, contributing to the broader continental goal of safeguarding mothers and their babies.
Jumuia Hospitals reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to advancing maternal and neonatal health through innovation, compassion, and quality service delivery, continuing to play a pivotal role in shaping a future where every mother and child has access to safe and dignified healthcare.
