HealthRight Kenya is privileged to support Community Health Promoters' (CHPs) training on Community Strategy Basic Module launched by the County Director of Health at Chepareria Training Centre, West Pokot.

The County Policy and Planning Director and the County Community Strategy Focal person were also present in the launch of a 10-Day training which outlines how to build and manage community-led initiatives by strengthening local capacity, fostering participation, and establishing clear planning and implementation processes.

Core components of the training include Needs Assessment, action planning, community involvement, capacity building and collaboration. The training is playing host to 240 participants divided into 8 classes. The training is also happening in Elgeyo Marakwet County. HealthRight Kenya celebrated two decades of impacting communities in a colourful ceremony in Nairobi. The organisation has been working across 11 counties in Kenya to expand equitable access to quality health systems, impacting over 4.5 million Kenyans within its program areas of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), HIV, Violence & Mental Health.

One of the greatest achievements for the EmpowerHer Project was the establishment of “KIROS” (Maternity Waiting Homes), which addressed pregnancy complications and improved maternal health outcomes. It also empowered mothers and daughters through menstrual and reproductive health education in West Pokot County County Government of West Pokot Comic Relief Gilead Sciences Kenya Red Cross Society Amref Health Africa Sexual Violence Research Initiative

World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends interpersonal therapy (IPT) as a first line treatment for depression.

Interpersonal group sessions are an integral part of our Inua Afya ya Mama project, funded by Comic Relief which we are implementing across informal settlements within Nairobi.
