What rheumatism can include
Rheumatism is an umbrella term and may refer to conditions such as:
• Arthritis (joint inflammation)
• Rheumatoid arthritis (autoimmune joint disease)
• Osteoarthritis (wear-and-tear joints)
• Gout
• Muscle rheumatism (soft-tissue pain, cramps, stiffness)
• Back, neck, shoulder, knee, or hip pain
Common symptoms

• Stiffness (especially in the morning or after rest)
• Swelling or warmth around joints
• Reduced movement or flexibility
• Muscle aches and fatigue
Common causes
• Aging and joint wear
