A father said to his daughter “You have graduated with honors, here is a car I bought many years ago.
It is a bit older now but before I give it to you, take it to the used car lot downtown and tell them you want to sell it and see how much they offer you for it.

The daughter went to the used car lot, returned to her father and said, “They offered me $1,000 because they said it looks pretty worn out.”

The father said, now “Take it to the pawn shop.” The daughter went to the pawn shop, returned to her father and said,”The pawn shop offered only $100 because it is an old car.”

The father asked his daughter to go to a car club now and show them the car. The daughter then took the car to the club, returned and told her father,” Some people in the club offered $100,000 for it because it’s a Holden Torana and it's an iconic car and sought by many collectors”

Now the father said this to his daughter, “The right place values you the right way,” If you are not valued, do not be angry, it means you are in the wrong place. Those who know your value are those who appreciate you. Never stay in a place where no one sees your value.

LIFE CHANGING LESSONS FROM THE BOOK "MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING":

1. Accept What You Can’t Control

We cannot always control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond. Accept this. Do not fight it.

Accepting you can only control how you respond gives you more control than trying to control everything.

2. Success Is A By-Product Of Vision

Instead of putting all of your time and energy into becoming successful,

Put all of your time and energy into creating value, into something bigger than yourself, and success will come.

3. There Is Meaning In Suffering

Frankl explains that suffering is a part of life - it is unavoidable.

Hence, if there is meaning in life, there is meaning in suffering.

“Without suffering and death, human life is incomplete”

4. Suffering Doesn’t Last Forever

As much as suffering is unavoidable - it is not constant.

There will come a time of liberation, a time where the suffering ceases.

That time is generally when you find or create the meaning behind your particular suffering.

5. Self Actualisation Is A By-Product Of Self Transcendence

Man must give himself completely to another cause, to his purpose.

When he does this man will become more human than he could imagine and the more human he is the more he actualises himself and releases his potential.

6. Purpose Keeps Us Alive

Frankl documents how those in Auschwitz who had given up hope, that had not created their purpose, would soon pass

But those who knew they had something or someone waiting for them after liberation would carry on surviving through the hell they were in.

7. Man Creates His Purpose

“Man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather recognise it is he who is asked”
Life questions us, it challenges us, and it is up to us to answer the question, rise to the challenge and give meaning to our lives.
8. Kindness Can Be Found In Unlikely Places
Don’t forget to always take with you your positive mindset.

One day a man was asked to paint a boat by an owner of boat. He brought with him paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him*.

While painting, he realized there was a hole in the hull and decided to repair it.

When finished painting, he received his money and left.*

The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice check, much higher than the payment for painting.

The painter was surprised:
- You've already paid me for painting the boat!
- he said.
- But this is not for the paint job.

It's for having repaired the hole in the boat.
- *Ah! But it was such a small service ... certainly it's not worth paying me such a high amount for something so insignificant!*

My dear friend, you do not understand. Let me tell you what happened.

When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention about the hole.*

When the boat dried, my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip.

They did not know that there was a hole.
I was not at home at that time.

When I returned and noticed they had taken the boat, I was desperate because I remembered that the boat had a hole.

Imagine my relief and joy when I saw them returning from fishing.

Then, I examined the boat and found that you had repaired the hole! You see, now, what you did?* You saved the life of my children! I do not have enough money to pay your "small" good deed.

So, no matter who, when or how. Just continue to help, sustain, wipe tears, listen attentively and carefully repair all the "leaks" you find, because you never know when one is in need of us or when God holds a pleasant surprise for us to be helpful and important to someone

Anna had a husband, they struggled alot for so many years to get a child, penina could hurt her anytime because of her situation, Anna prayed unto God for a child, cried alot and fasting as well, and one day God changed her prayers from asking for a child to thanks giving, from barren to a mother of a child, no matter the situation you're and the names you're given by people, there's nothing he whom we serve can't do and change, prayers changes things, pray without ceasing and put your trust in God.
