Early labor can feel confusing — is it really happening or is your uterus just practicing again? 😅
Here are the basics to help you know what to do and when to go:

✨ The 5–1–1 Rule:
Contractions every 5 minutes, lasting 1 minute each, for at least 1 hour.

✨ Fuel + Rest:
Eating and hydrating now helps with energy later.

✨ Hospital Bag Ready:
It’s go-time… or at least almost.

✨ Call Your Provider:
When in doubt, always check in — every pregnancy is different.

Save this for later, mama-to-be 🤎✨

To burp your baby, gently hold them upright against your shoulder or sit them on your lap with their back straight and head supported. Lightly pat or rub their back in an upward motion to help air move out. Keep the movements gentle — you don’t need to tap hard for it to work.

Some babies burp quickly, while others take a few minutes, so be patient. And remember — it’s normal if a little milk comes up during burping, so keep a cloth handy.

😣🍼 Gas, colic, and reflux can look similar — but they’re not the same.
Here’s the simple way to tell:

💨 Gas:
Baby is gassy, fussy after feeds, and often improves with burping or passing gas. Super common while digestion is still maturing.

😭 Colic:
Long, intense crying spells in an otherwise healthy baby — often in the evenings — following the “rule of 3s” (3+ hours/day, 3+ days/week, 3+ weeks). Peaks around 4–6 weeks and usually settles by 3–4 months.

🤢 Reflux:
Frequent spit-up with discomfort, back-arching, or irritability. Reflux is common in the first year and often improves with time; medicine is only sometimes needed if it’s severe.

⚠️ Call your doctor if you see:
poor weight gain, blood/green vomit, breathing trouble, extreme sleepiness, or baby seems very unwell.

Save this for those “what is happening?” days 🤍
Which one do you think you’re dealing with right now, mama?
