Help me celebrate Kaluki bees products. This is the most amazing lip balm I've now used for 2 years. No lip cracks, lasts, I only apply twice a day max. I'd recommend for anyone. Thanks Janet Matheri for the amazing lip, skin and hair products you make

The Hidden Health Risks of Empathy: Why Caring Too Much Can Harm You

In my years of practice as a cardiologist and a consultant physician, I’ve noticed something striking:

💙Those who are highly empathetic — the ones who feel deeply for others and often put everyone else’s needs before their own — tend to neglect themselves. They become so busy carrying other people’s pain that they forget to take care of their own health.

✅At first, this looks noble, and admirable and motivates the empath. But over time, it becomes harmful.

🤦🏽‍♀️Empaths often:

Ignore their own needs while rushing to solve other people’s problems.

Carry emotional burdens that aren’t theirs to carry.

Feel guilty for resting, saying “no,” or prioritizing themselves.

Unfortunately, this emotional weight shows up in the body. I’ve seen many develop:

Anxiety, worry, and panic attacks, even depression often over other peoples problems!

Digestive issues such as acidity, ulcers, or irritable bowel syndrome

Autoimmune disorders such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and other connective tissue disorders

Neurological disorders such as frequent headaches including migraine and tension headaches, brain fog

Stress because their personal assignments, family, work, businesses get neglected and some fail

High blood pressure and heart strain, burn out and more

Why does this happen?
Because the body doesn’t separate emotional stress from physical stress. When you constantly absorb other people’s problems, your body remains on “high alert,” releasing stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. Over time, this wears down your immune system, digestive system, joints, and even your heart.
