We had a meeting with News Editors and Journalists in , held in the capital Ouagadougou, on the ticket of the Health Technology Project, implemented by the African Institute for Development Policy based in Kenya. The continental project creates the Platform for Dialogue and Action on in (HealthTech Platform) which promotes and facilitates informed, objective, open and balanced discussions on development and use of emerging transformative tools and technologies to address health challenges in Africa. Notable among these technologies is the for the elimination of . The meeting looked at the critical role the media will have to play in the advocacy efforts of the Platform. We also used the opportunity to plan for an upcoming training workshop for Science/Health and Environmental Journalists drawn from West and Central Africa to be held in Ouagadougou or Bobo Dioulasso, in Burkina Faso, next month.
