H.E. President has today signed into law the;
1️⃣ The Social Health Insurance Bill.
2️⃣ The Digital Health Bill. 3️⃣ The Primary Health Care Bill, and;
4️⃣ The Facilities
Improvement Financing Bill.

The Bills, now ACTS of Parliament, are collectively referred to as the Universal Health Care Bills.

This is a momentous occasion in our country as it marks a paradigm shift in the management of our healthcare sector by providing a policy framework through which both the National and County Governments will enhance the healthcare of all Kenyans regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds.

By dint of the assent of the bills into law, H.E. President is fulfilling the pledge he made to the Kenyan people of delivering a Universal Health Care system built on three key pillars as follows:
✔️A fully publicly financed primary healthcare;
✔️A Universal seamless health insurance system; and;
✔️A National Fund for chronic and catastrophic illness and injury costs not covered by insurance.

Together with colleagues at the and stakeholders across the country, we commit to ensuring that the UHC vision as espoused by H.E. the president is delivered and achieved for the benefit and wellness of all Kenyans.

The community health service stems from the inherent right of every Kenyan to access quality and affordable healthcare.

It is a demonstration of active pursuit of a healthier nation. With a population of approximately 50 million people and an estimated 10 million households, our strategy for outreach is to leave no one behind.

We therefore commission these 100,000 dedicated Community Health Promoters (CHPs), who are adequately kitted with the right equipment and knowledge, and who will each be responsible for 100 households.
