⚠️ 13 Days to Private Health Sector Service Disruption ⚠️

The private healthcare sector is at a breaking point. For months, unresolved issues with the Social Health Authority (SHA) have put facilities and most importantly, patients at risk.

We are calling for urgent action to safeguard access to care:
1️⃣ Clear the NHIF debt owed to providers.
2️⃣ Cut down SHA debt by 50%.
3️⃣ Reverse mass claims rejections that threaten service continuity.
4️⃣ Establish a fair and transparent Dispute Resolution Tribunal.

This is not about hospitals alone. It is about ensuring that every patient who walks through our doors can be treated with dignity, without delays, and without financial uncertainty hanging over their care.

Social Health Authority owes all Kenyan hospitals Kshs 43B in unpaid claims since October 2024. NHIF arrears are at Kshs 32B. SHA has surpassed NHIF in bad debts within a short 9 months. They can blame hospitals all they want but the truth is SHA was not even a good idea executed badly, no, it was simply an idea by bad people. The health sector is Kshs 75B in debt, no amount of gerrymandering on claims by Aden Duale will make Ksh 75B disappear. Within the next 4 weeks by 23rd September hospitals will stop covering the Emperors nakedness.

RUPHA AFYABORA is a mass market health insurance product that for Kshs 1,875 per month or Kshs 22,200 per annum provides a comprehensive M+3 medical cover with benefits such as inpatient benefit of Kshs 250,000, OP benefit of Kshs 50,000 (reimbursed to providers per tier kshs 1,500 level 2 & 3, Kshs 2,500 level 4 and Kshs 3,000 level 5. Patients can access up to 24 visits p.a. HPV vaccines, Cervical Cancer HPV DNA Screening, Maternity CS Package, CT/MRI/EEG/NCV and other specialised imaging modalities. ICU is covered at 28,000 per day for 10 days.
