Just a reminder, your mind matters more than you know.💜
Take a moment to check in with yourself, how are you really feeling today?
It’s okay to slow down, to rest, to seek help, and to speak about what’s in your heart.
You are not weak for needing support; you are human.

Let’s break the silence, end the stigma, and create a world where mental wellness is a shared priority.
Remember, you are valued, you are loved, and you are never alone. 💫

On Saturday, over 350 people gathered in Mombasa for a mental health awareness walk organized by the Kenya Counselling & Psychological Association (KCPA), Mombasa, led by Madam Koko (KCPA National Deputy Chairperson) and Madam Jamillah (KCPA Mombasa Chairperson).

The event brought together youths from Likoni, Mvita, Kisauni, Changamwe, Nyali, and Jomvu sub-counties, alongside representatives from Tana River, Kwale, and Lamu counties.

We had several activities for the day which included a public sensitization walk, Psychological First Aid (PFA) sessions, and psycho-education at the SwahiliPot Amphitheatre.

We were honored to be part of the partners in this impactful initiative aimed at raising awareness, reducing stigma, and equipping the community with knowledge and tools for mental health support.💜

On World Su***de Prevention Day, we joined hands with , Tlx, and Mind Haven at Ubunifu Hub for a day of learning, reflection, and connection. 💛

We began with icebreakers that opened hearts and set the stage for honest conversations. Through group discussions and we tackled common myths around su***de, learned practical ways to support a friend in crisis, and even engaged in activities that reminded us of the power of simply showing up for someone who is struggling.

After sharing our collective insights, we paused for tea and laughter before heading outside for games like Kenya at 50, Ludo, and Jenga. These moments reminded us that healing is not only found in heavy conversations but also grows in joy, play, and togetherness.

In the afternoon, each partner organization shared their story and vision, sparking meaningful connections and later on we closed with a photo session that captured not just faces, but the spirit of unity and hope we carried from the day. 💚✨

It was an inspiring day anchored in the belief that every life matters, and that through breaking silence, fighting stigma, and showing kindness, we can extend hope to those who need it the most.

Did you know September is Su***de Prevention Month? 💛

It’s a time dedicated to remind us of the importance of mental health, compassion, and the power of being there for one another. It’s a call to reflect, learn, and take action in supporting those silently battling struggles we may never see.

Globally, su***de ranks high among the three leading causes of death, with an estimated number of 703,000 people losing their lives every year and many more attempting it. In Kenya alone, 4 lives are lost to su***de daily, according to World Health Organization.

Every single life lost is a profound tragedy, because every life is divine, sacred, and irreplaceable. Su***de awareness is not just a campaign for a month, it is our shared responsibility every day.

Join us tomorrow as we raise awareness, foster compassion, and inspire hope courtesy of Me Community 💜

We were honored to be part of a Mental health conference themed “Bridging Voices, Building Futures: Youth Innovation in Mental Health” organized by Generation Mental Health and Basic Needs Basic Rights Kenya at Swiss Belinn Hotel.

The conference brought together passionate voices, youth-led and youth-serving organizations, the Ministry of Health (county & national), the Division of Mental Health, and other key stakeholders, united for one cause: advancing mental health. 🧠💚

The workshop spotlighted achievements in advocacy, amplified the importance of including lived experiences in decision-making, addressed existing gaps, and explored collaborations to enhance mental health literacy, accessibility, and affordability of psychosocial support.

As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering youth-friendly, innovative initiatives that build resilience, inclusion, and well-being.

Have you ever heard of mental and physical resilience? The ability of the body to adapt to stress, maintain function under pressure, and recover quickly from physical challenges like illness, trauma, or intense demands.

Some of the factors blostering mental and physical resilience include healthy diet, regular exercise, sufficient sleep, and good lifestyle habits, which strengthen the body's physiological reserves.

Climbing Mt. Jali in the heart of Kigali City wasn’t just about the summit, it was about resilience from the way we kept moving despite tired muscles, steep climbs, and burning lungs. Each step mirrored the mental health journey: the heavy days, the uphill battles, and the small victories that remind us, healing is possible.

On the mountain and in life, resilience is choosing to keep going, even when it feels hard. 💜

After a deeply intense morning of learning and reflection, we headed to Fazenda Sengha on Mt. Kigali and wow, what an experience!

🎉 From paintball battles 🎯, canvas painting 🎨, ziplining thrills 🪂, horse riding 🐎, to soaking in the magic of a Rwandan sunset 🌅this was self-care at its finest.

Unwinding together reminded us of the importance of being intentional about self-care, especially when navigating heavy conversations. The perfect way to close the day wiith laughter, adventure, and a sunset that whispered resilience in its own quiet way.

Today we visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a place of remembrance and deep reflection. We learned about the unimaginable atrocities inflicted on the Rwandese both young and old. 💔

Hearing directly from survivors moved us profoundly. They shared how the genocide not only scarred psychological wellbeing but also left cracks in intergenerational collaboration. Yet, their stories of healing, adjustment, and community support reminded us of the power of resilience. 🌱

We witnessed firsthand how psychosocial support and solidarity can help rebuild lives and what it truly means to bounce back stronger. 🙏💚

As we carry forward our theme, Trails of Resilience, we’re inspired by Rwanda’s journey of courage and renewal.

💬 Have you ever heard about the genocide in Rwanda? Drop your questions below, we’ll be glad to share what we’ve learned.

What a way to kick off our journey! From the Source of the Nile 🌊 (boat rides + Baganda culture = endless vibes 💃🏾🪘) to a warm welcome at Kaazi National Scout Camp by the Uganda Scouts Association. 🤝

We had inspiring exchanges with the National Youth Committee & NSO officials, sharing best practices in youth work and exploring future collabs to build resilience in young people. 💡💪 Could a SHIW chapter in Uganda be on the horizon? 👀 Mental health knows no borders, and we’re all about making a difference! 💚

We wrapped it up with a tour of the campsite, learning how the NSO runs their national education hub—and of course, sprinkling in plenty of FUN (because what’s resilience without joy?). 😄🔥

This is just Day 1… buckle up, the story continues! 🚐➡️🇷🇼

Thankyou for being a super host Ampumuza and the entire Uganda Scouts Association (OFFICIAL)
