JUNK FOODS
Junk food is used to describe food and drink low in nutrients (e.g Vitamins, minerals and fibre) high in saturated fat, added sugar or added salt. They are also known as descretionary choices. Also, junk food is a preprepared or packaged food that has low nutrient. Junk food isn't actually made of garbage, it has no nutritional value and they are rich in sugar.
Eating junk foods may be easier and way cheaper,it does no good to our long term health. Junk food has generally been in schools because of its convenience and good taste.
Consumption of junk food on a regular basis can lead to an increased risk of obesity and chronic disease like cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers, depression, digestive issues, heart disease and stroke. And you might expect frequency matters when it comes to the impact of junk food on your health.
Foods commonly considered junk foods include salted snack foods,gum, candy, sweet desserts, fried fast foods, chicken chips and sugary carbonated beverages, ice cream, crackers, and potato chips, crisps, biscuits and soft drinks are all considered junk foods.
Benefits
They are not only providing people with nutrients that the body needs to keep bones, muscles and brain strong but junk food can also provide economical benefits;
* Junk food helps people to save time on their lunch break, save money over a long period of time.
* It contains a high amount of protein which helps to build up muscles.
* It is also rich in vitamin such as vitamins A&C and antioxidants.
In conclusion, junk food tastes good and eating it once in a while is fine, eating junk food too frequently may result in health problems such as obesity or diabetes.
The problems caused by junk food are mainly in the high sugar, salt and fat content in it. Eat junk once in a while.
