Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental health condition in which people have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance. They need and seek too much attention and want people to admire them. People with this disorder may lack the ability to understand or care about the feelings of others.
Key behaviors of a narcissist:
1. Grandiose sense of self: Believing they are superior, unique, or special, often exaggerating their achievements.
2. Constant need for attention and praise: Seeking admiration and validation from others.
3. Lack of empathy: Difficulty understanding or caring about the feelings of others.
4. Exploitative behavior: Using others to achieve their own goals without considering the impact on others.
5. Arrogant attitude: Acting superior and entitled.
6.Preoccupation with power, beauty, or success: Focusing on these aspects to boost their self-image.
7. Difficulty accepting criticism: Becoming defensive or angry when challenged.
8. Devaluing others: Putting down or dismissing people who don't meet their expectations.

The Four Phases of abuse in relationships
1. Tension Building
The abuser becomes increasingly tense, irritable, and hostile. The victim may feel like they are "walking on eggshells" and try to placate the abuser to avoid an outburst.
2. Incident
The tension escalates into an incident of abuse. This may involve verbal abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, or sexual abuse.
3. Reconciliation
The abuser apologizes for their behavior, makes excuses, or denies the severity of the abuse. They may also shower the victim with affection and gifts.
4. Honeymoon
The relationship seems calm and peaceful. The abuse may stop for a while, but it will eventually start again.
