First Aid Tips On Unconsciousness Management.
1. Check the casualty’s airway, breathing & pulse frequently and if necessary perform rescue breathing & CPR.

2. If the casualty is breathing and lying on the back and your believe there is no spinal injury, put them into the recovery position. If the breathing or pulse stop at any time, roll the casualty back into upward facing position and perform rescue breathing & CPR.

3. If you suspect there is a spinal injury, leave the casualty where and how you found them as long as breathing continues. If they vomit, roll the entire body at once to the side while supporting & keeping the neck and back in same position.

4.keep the casualty warm and well ventilated till medical help arrives.

5. If the casualty is fainting, try to prevent a fall. Lay the person flat on a flat surface eg on the floor and raise their feet about 12 inches high.

First Aid Tips On Unconsciousness.
Unconsciousness is when a person is unable to respond to people and activities i.e unaware and unable to be aroused.

Often, this is called a coma or being in a comatose state.

Being asleep is not the same thing as being unconscious. A sleeping person will respond to stimulus like loud noise or gentle shaking - an unconscious person won't.

Main causes include: major injuries, trauma, severe poisoning etc.

First Aid Tip On Electrical Accidents.

Electricity (Alternating Current - AC) moves or changes directions at a speed of 50Hz, the rate of oscillations per second, faster than the human normal heart that pumps at a speed of 2Hz or 60 - 100bpm contraction (systole) and expansion (diastole).

When a person is in contact with a naked energized electric circuit and without proper insulation, with these different speeds, the heart can’t match the speed of the electricity (the current flow) in the body and eventually stops.

Other muscles too and reflexes stop and eg the upper and lower limbs can’t release the grip or move, tongue and jaws can’t move and the casualty remains stuck motionless and silent with each ticking of the clock proving disastrous.

The severity of this accident depends on the amount of the current flowing in thr body, exposure periods etc.

First Aid To Electrical Injuries.
Electricity is largely categorized as low, medium and high voltage.

Electric shock is the passage of electric current through the body causing a jarring, shaking sensation and may render the casualty unconscious with cessation of breathing and stoppage of the heart or death.

Electrical energy passage to the body can also cause either burns at the entry and exit point and or several flash burns ranging from various degrees and perspectives.
* A current of 1mA 0.001A) can cause mild sensation.
* At 10mA (0.01A) severe enough to paralyze the muscles.
* At 100mA (0.1A) the shock is fatal.
* Over 1A burning and death.
