This is an institution that focuses on care of a patient with special needs as well as the elderly. It has been known to be a challenge to many people who lack basic knowledge of how to take care of a sick person. It is not only frustrating but it may be the difference between life and death for a patient. Home care, as commonly referred to, can interrupt normal work programs and it is for this reason that we at RAFA INSTITUTE OF DISABILITY CARE STUDIES have designed a course that trains in skills to tackle this particular challenge. We have merged modern care skills to produce a 3 and a half month course. The student will learn how to competently take care of a patient, be it at home or hospital set-up. By the end of the programme, the student will be able to take care of all patients from children with special needs to the elderly, HIV care, Stroke,etc. The skills to deliver a normal or near normal patients activities of daily living:- Cleaning, feeding, toileting ,daily massage and physical exercises are what the student will be equipped with to deliver dignified care of your loved one. The patient will also be able to advice on Nutrition, give First Aid and assess bodily functions and vitals eg Temperature, blood sugar, blood pressure and giving of already prescribed oral drugs. We will also give home care services to clients all over the country.
