Today I want to share my thoughts on HACCP in Catering and Retail business. For persons in food business that sell food and beverages for commercial reasons have huge responsibility to ensure that they provide food that is free from any contamination and safe to produce and to consume. Mistakes managers make when the business is Low.

Every business goes through the growth cycle and as a successful manager for a food business need to avoid these pitfalls.
1. All new business goes through the trial period of first three to six months and the first people who fully embrace your concept are known as early adapters, This is a very small percentage of the market. When they come embrace them fully because they are your brand ambassadors and will create a good rapport with others.
2. There are various factors that affect business growth both new and existing ones e.g. cost of raw materials, cost of production, technology changes and social and political environment. sometimes these changes are hard to foresee and plan for them therefore as a keen manager you need to adjust and accommodate them. The key point you need to ensure that you don't dilute your quality and your brand and always work within the reasonable parameters to your clients.
3. When business is slow ensure that this is the time to plug in and add value to the business, use the time to keep on training your team, improve on your working systems and do maintenance and service your business.
4. when business is slow don't cut on the marketing and advertising budget, keep engaging your clients and let them know that your products and services are still of high quality.
5. Finally use the time to manage the staff and manpower output. this is the time to sort out the pending off days and pending leaves as you wait for the business to pick up.
