"Eternal Journey: A Tribute to Kenyatta University's Fallen Comrades"
In memory of our fallen comrades, we mourn,
Their journey cut short, our hearts torn.
Not the end of a semester, nor a riot in sight,
Yet they journey home, into the eternal light.
Mama, they're coming back home, but not the same,
Formless souls, known only by their name.
In a casket, they'll rest, cared for and embraced,
By the heavens above, in eternal grace.
Rose, the cow sold, to clear their path,
Fees paid, hopes high, in the aftermath.
But the road heard none, of the sacrifices made,
Leaving behind dreams, forever to fade.
Breathless, lifeless, in disfigured state,
No degree to claim, at the end of fate.
Lights out, darkness falls, in the silent gloom,
Yet their spirits soar, beyond the tomb.
Could it be true, what they say?
To Mombasa, joyous journey, on the way.
But returning, a solemn procession, in mournful plea,
Telling tales of lives lost, in the vast sea.
Rest in peace, comrades dear,
Your memory cherished, forever near.
Kenyatta University, hold them close,
In the halls of remembrance, where love flows.
As strong alumni, we stand in sorrow,
With families, friends, today and tomorrow.
Comrades never die, they graduate indeed,
In a life well lived, their legacy we heed.
In Kapsabet's shadow, another tale unfolds,
Where hearts are shattered, and grief beholds.
To drivers everywhere, heed the call for care,
Let not haste or negligence lead to despair.
In the wake of loss, let us bow our heads,
In prayer for the departed, as sorrow spreads.
Grant us wisdom and strength, to face the day,
And guide us safely, on life's winding way.
May their souls find solace, in eternal rest,
As we hold their memories close to our chest.
And may the road ahead be paved with light,
Guiding us through the darkest of night.
Till we meet again, in fields of gold,
Where stories of life, forever unfold.
May their souls find peace, in eternal flight,
Guided by love, in the realms of light.
