On this Good Friday, we pause. Not just out of tradition, but to reflect on sacrifice, compassion, and the quiet strength of service to others.

At the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya, these values sit at the heart of what we do every day, in every facility, through every practitioner committed to care.

Wishing you a reflective and meaningful day.

Yesterday, a team from PCK, led by the CEO, visited Kenya Medical Training College Nairobi Campus as part of its ongoing sensitization exercise aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of the Council’s mandate and supporting them through the indexing process.

During the visit, the team held discussions with the Deputy Principal, Nairobi Campus, Ms. Caroline Oyugi, the Head of Faculty for the Physiotherapy Programme, Mr. Daniel Kangutu, and other faculty members, focusing on strengthening collaboration to support student training and professional readiness.

The team also engaged directly with students in an interactive session centered on the indexing process. They provided a step-by-step overview of the requirements, timelines, and documentation needed, while clarifying common challenges that students encounter during application. Students were guided on how to correctly submit their details, the importance of ensuring accuracy in their records, and how indexing supports their transition into professional practice.

In addition, the team addressed questions from students, offered practical guidance on compliance with Council requirements, and emphasized the need for early application to avoid last-minute delays. The session also highlighted the link between proper indexing, adherence to professional standards, and eligibility for licensing upon graduation, reinforcing the importance of taking the process seriously from the outset.

The PCK team yesterday visited KMTC Gatundu as part of its ongoing sensitization exercise aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of the Council’s mandate and supporting them through the indexing process.

During the visit, the team engaged with the Principal, Mr. Jonah Sigei, the Head of the Physiotherapy Programme, Mr. Kelvin Kavita, and other faculty members. The Principal noted that physiotherapy remains one of the institution’s flagship programmes, attributing its strong performance to the discipline and dedication demonstrated by both students and staff.

He added that these efforts have positioned the campus among the top-performing institutions in the country. He also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the programme and ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the job market.

The PCK team further interacted with students, sharing insights on career pathways in physiotherapy. They emphasized the importance of maintaining focus in their studies to build competence, adhering to professional standards, and upholding discipline and integrity in practice.
