As a matter of health concerns Africa countries and other countries across the world with communities using pit latrines need to stop the use of manhole and pit latrines.
Strengthened policies to ban the continuity of digging pit latrines and manhole toilets shall reduce contaminations from waterborne deceases and airborne deceases.
Most communities in the countryside, schools, and restaurants still use pit latrines and manhole toilets.
Communities living in agricultural zones pose health hazards leaving consumers of fresh perishable foods with contaminated fresh foods, metal and lead have been found in vegetables like spinach, and other vegetables have been infested on by worms from pit latrine sewers especially during rainy seasons.
Countries that have addressed concerns on pit latrines are Latvia, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand and Zimbabwe.
