KEMSA - PFIZER DEAL EXPANDS ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE CANCER AND HEART MEDICINE

KEMSA CEO, Dr. Waqo Ejersa, accompanied by Director Commercial Services Eliud Muriithi, today met with the Pfizer team led by Vice President Ali Besri to advance discussions on rolling out an access program for oncology and cardiovascular products at significantly reduced prices.

The engagement leverages KEMSA’s strengthened end-to-end supply chain systems that have improved forecasting procurement efficiency and last-mile distribution ensuring critical medicines consistently reach health facilities and patients when they are needed most.

Through this partnership, patients will benefit from increased availability, improved affordability and uninterrupted access to life-saving therapies while strengthening long-term health outcomes.

The meeting also explored knowledge exchange and capacity building programs to further enhance local expertise and system resilience.

KEMSA’s Assistant Deputy Director, Rift Valley Region - Dr. Johnson Tukei, alongside County Sales and Marketing Officer Maina Ndinguri, held a consultative engagement with the Samburu County Health Management Team to discuss the availability of Health Products and Technologies.

The meeting also focused on strengthening collaboration in supply chain management and addressing outstanding debts to enhance efficiency and sustainability in healthcare service delivery.

It’s that time of the year again… 📦

The KEMSA FY 2025/26 Semi-Annual Stock Take is officially underway! Kicking off today, 5th January 2026, at the National Supply Chain Centre, Embakasi, it’s all hands-on deck as we count, confirm and keep things moving.

Spearheaded by the Finance Directorate in collaboration with other key departments, this exercise will be carried out across all our regional depots and distribution centres, focusing on aligning records with actual inventory, strengthening accountability, improving planning accuracy and ensuring documentation stays spot on.

Why does it matter?
Because accurate stock means timely, uninterrupted delivery of health products and medical supplies to facilities across the country.
