What is GluCorp?
Glucorp is a mobile application that is dedicated to support African pregnant women through their pregnancy journeys. We are committed to ensure that pregnant women have a seamless, joyful experience with easily accessible care at the palm of their hands.
What problem are we solving?
The WHO(2020) report estimates that 300,000 pregnancy related deaths occur globally each year. Africa alone accounts for 87% of these.
But why is this so, you ask?
Our healthcare systems do not have adequate resources to cater for its populations. This translates to patients with limited access to affordable healthcare, limited access to health information, and limited access to diagnostic services.
Pregnant women, especially those in semi-urban and rural areas, are more likely to for-go their WHO recommended monthly prenatal visits due to the existing barriers. This deters or delays the diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy related diseases-such as gestational diabetes, resulting in complications that could have been avoided had measures been taken early on.
