🙌 This post is everything Amara Initiative was made for, unfortunately since covid happened, we have slowed down significantly however, in 2022 we plan to pick up and tailor classes to suit each and every client.
That second last paragraph got me!! Thank you for sharing this Mama Malope
I was a very active member of the St. John's Ambulance back in high school. The only award I got while in high school came from being the best in the individual category at the Nairobi Zonal Competition😊😊
Fast forward to adulthood and more specifically parenting, the importance of First Aid rings louder than it ever did.
As a rule, I send my nannies for Basic First Aid training. Previously, I would send them to the Nairobi Hospital - Galleria Clinic that had classes for Nannies for free until Covid-19 happened and the classes were put on hold.
It took a while for me to find a place for my nanny who joined our family in early 2020 to get trained with most places that I could think of that had tailor-made courses for Nannies having stopped training citing Covid-19.
Eventually, late last year I was reminded about the Amara Initiative - Basic First Aid. I sent my nanny for individualised training at a small fee. I believe it's worth paying for if one can't get it for free.
Exactly, one week after she got trained... my nanny saved someone's child from choking.
Nannies spend so much time with our kiddos. We can choose to live solely by God's grace or take up some responsibility ourselves. Get them trained and as a parent get some training too. Unfortunate situations may still occur but sometimes there's much comfort in knowing that someone tried to do the right thing to save the situation.
