CONFLICTS ON THE PEN
For it is written
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed…”.
Every young writer has a never-ending battle on their pens. Young authors must constantly be prepared for these ongoing battles. To earn a reputation, it takes perseverance like that required to build the tower at Babel by the descendants of Noah's son Ham.
Follow me as I describe some of the battles you will engage in while engaging with viewers and desire a position in their minds.
TENSES AND CONCORD WAR
The clarity of your phrases will enable you to eat with kings and queens, who will do whatever to elevate you in their eyes and grant you permission to occupy a place in their minds.
The majority of people believed that mathematics and any quantitative modules were the most challenging, but I can assure you that they are not. In my opinion, the English language is the most challenging. When I was in preschool, I knew that 1+1=2.
The good news is that the response "2" is the sum of 1+1 as of right now.
However, in our English Language class our teacher in that preschool wrote on the board, "John is going to school,"
The bad news is that Francis instead of John attends school in some places. This serves to emphasize how fluid the English language is. Tenses and concord must therefore be a battle to be won.
THE WAR OF WRONG SPELLINGS
Even after numerous proofreading, some spelling errors will persist until they are uploaded. No matter how accurate your information is, as my mentor and leacturer once said, "When you misspell it will remove from what you have laboured for."
I was ashamed of myself since I made so many unintentional errors as a young writer. Nevertheless, the majority of viewers judged you on this. There is no explanation and justification for writers’ errors, unlike other professions like the military and medical. Examples: Soldiers gloss over civilian deaths as unexpected military effects to make the killing of humans sound acceptable.
Similar to this, doctors refer to a patient dying on the operating table as a "therapeutic misadventure" or "a poor outcome for the patient's care."
However, there is no valid justification for writers, particularly for newer writers who are less experienced.
WARS OF OPINION
I am aware of two distinct categories of critics. People that are supportive of you and want you to succeed, such as mentors. Positive critics urge you to improve and maintain your integrity rather than becoming a crush on the highway full of intellectual heavyweight writers, some may even correct you in private; in such case, you are like that know that you are a hero.
Negative critics must be avoided because they insist that their dislikes of your writing are insufficient for you to receive their praises. Never kill yourself trying to appease these individuals; no writer has ever succeeded in doing so. Some people can be your buddies, your co-workers, or anyone else on the planet. These people are constantly trying to make fun of you. But always keep in mind that you are your first love and that "a man who seeks to satisfy everyone will end up pleasing nobody" is a true proverb.
APPRECIATION
This is a tool for better work, not a fight. Keep moving past elasticity once you receive the applause you rightfully deserve.
I hope you become the next writer.
