Hello.
We continue to receive enquiries about which colleges Kenyans can join. We shall publicise all colleges accredited by TVET Authority to offer POTT course. These are the TVET MTCs POTTA Kenya will recognise and guide Kenyans to join whenever contacted. We shall also post on our social media platforms.

This is to update our dear stakeholders that it will be in good faith so as to meet the expectations of our members, stakeholders and other Kenyans who have sought guidance on to which colleges they can join or refer their relatives to join, even as they interact with TVET Authority websites and other avenues of information.

Kindly make sure your college is accredited to offer POTT. Thank you.

POTTA Kenya Membership Card Issuance Procedure

All members are required to have a membership practice card.

The processing charge is only Sh100 payable thru POTTA Kenya paybill, as follows:

1. Go to MPESA Menu
2. Enter POTTA Kenya KCB Paybill number 522522
3. Then enter KCB Account to transfer money to that is 1268534757
4. Enter the amount KSH.100 (for those already registered) or 600 to new members
5. Then Enter your MPESA pin
6. Confirm your transaction details correctly

7. Send the MPESA transaction message & your County name to our POTTA Kenya National Treasurer Mr Evans Wamalwa 0724714729 for prompt verification of your POTTA Kenya registration status

8. The POTTA Kenya national treasurer upon confirmation, forwards your payment details to your county rep/regional rep and Registrar for confirmation.

9. Member sends personal registration details - name,ID number, passport photo and email address - to registrar & treasurer.

10. POTTA Kenya Registrar receives, confirms,prepares & sends the membership cards (and curfew pass ) to members thru POTTA Kenya email..

N/B: i) The same procedure also applies to replacing of lost or misplaced membership cards where a police abstract might be tabled either online or as hardcopy

ii) The above procedure is meant to increase engagement & interaction between and among county officers & national POTTA Kenya officials & the grassroots members.

iii) Please, we envisage a process that is easy, smooth & verifiably transparent to all. Be patient. Be proud of & build POTTA Kenya, in unity.

Peri-operative Theatre Technology
Perioperative Theatre Technology consists of competencies that an individual must achieve to provide services in a surgical-oriented or hospital mind set. It entails preventing nosocomial infections, providing technical services to the theatre team, maintaining safety of patients and the theatre team, caring for theatre instruments, participating in provision of clinical services in operation theatre and executing administrative and managerial responsibilities peri- Operatively.
Duties of Peri-op Techs:
1.Work in CSSD as sterilizing technicians
2. Participate in Peri-operative technical services
3.Manage Operation Theatre resources or a surgical section/unit
4.Supervise operation of POTT activities/ POTT administrative duties
5.Technologists can serve as anesthetist assistants
6. Operate operating theatre machines and equipment and link them to Biomed department
7.Support surgeons/nurses in surgical clinical services in hospital
8. Prepare or set up operating theatre room
9.Provide first aid services / CPR and other related emergency care services
10. Participate in health promotion services and programs in the community
11.Undertake sales & marketing of operation theatre instruments/equipment
12. Any other duty related to POTT such as marketing surgical implants/instruments and equipments among others
