1. What would you do genuinely even if you're not paid?

2. What are those particular tools of work that never miss by your side because you feel a special attachment to them? Eg, as a coach I never miss a book and a pen anywhere I am. An electrician never misses a screw driver, a chef never misses his cooking overall.

3. What kind of things excite you when you see them? In my case I get excited to the sight of a panel discussion or an audience waiting to be addressed. A make up artist gets excited to the sight of cosmetics and make up. A chef get excited to the sight of spices and kitchen filled with various cooking materials and utensils.

4. What is that one thing that you do using the list amount of time compared to others yet your results will be the best?

5. What's that particular thing that comes out of you naturally without much effort and struggle, yet it's flawless?

"Guys, my son got a B+!! What course is he likely to take?"

Such are the questions that I've come across in social media platforms after the recent release of KCSE results.

A parent/guardian displays the candidate's grades (which is not bad), then goes ahead to ask an opinion from the public, which course should the child take.

A very, very WRONG move!!! Not even you as a parent/guardian, let alone the public/siblings/friends should make a decision for your child on which course to take.

The decision should solely come from the candidate him/herself.

If the candidate is not sure what course he should take, we have so many career coaches, whom he can approach one and ask for guidance.

Let's avoid this trend of letting people or you, decide for children what to do. It begins from him. In addition, if things go wrong, he will come to blame you....

5 Details that you can look out for in an organization that has called you for an interview.

1. Vison, mission and core values. These three details will help you understand the organization deeper, what they value, what they are working towards and how they are aiming to achieve it.

2. Awards. Research if the organization has ever bagged any award or gained positive recognition nationally or even internationally.

3. Working hours. Some organizations display their working hours hence you can get to know more about how they works, even during weekends if at all they operate, or night shifts as well.

4. Duration of existence. Research if it is a new company, one that has existed 3-5 years or one that was established a long time ago.

5. Reviews. You can get to see their reviews on their social media platforms and this will even give you a clear view to look out for any red flags.

With the above information, you will be more comfortable when going for an interview, and you will be able to answer questions more easily.

Glowmustard Talk
Let me show you what the power of a mentor does;

Many people who are making a debut in their careers, end up getting lost because of approaching the wrong people.

I said wrong because these people could be successful but they aren't in the same field as what you are doing.

A mentor is someone who is already successful in the career that you want to pursue, and not just any other career.

Mentors are way more better people to help you because they have been through that career that you want to venture into.

They have gone through similar challenges you are about to encounter.

They have a large network of other professionals in the same field.

The have vast knowledge and wisdom of that career.

Approaching someone just because he is successful is not enough, approach someone who relates with what you do.

Why?? Read the example below.

If you approach different professionals for advice, they will give you advice in relation to what they do;

1. If you approach a politician, he will tell you tens of promises he will do for you.

2. If you approach a nutrionist, he will tell you to have a healthy diet.

3. If you approach a chef, he will show you how to cook amazing tasty food.

4. f you approach a musician, he will tell you to listen to a song every morning when you wake up.

5. If you approach a marketing guy, he will tell you how to market yourself.

6. If you approach a fashion designer, he will advice on different types of outfits for different occasions.

7. If you approach a weather man, he will tell you how to prepare for different weathers.

But if you approach a professional of the same field as yours, you will get the SOLUTION and ANSWERS that you are looking for. Answers that are CORRECT, JUSTIFIABLE, and IMPACTFUL.

Identify a mentor in your field and make the step.

As a speaker, understanding your audience is something that you really need to be aware of at any given time.

As you prepare your speech, understand which group of people you will be talking to.

In an event where you are supposed to address little children, and there is a document they are supposed to have their names written on it, you don't just walk into a room like the way you can do in an adults' room, handover the paper to the first person and they will automatically know what they are supposed to do, and they will write their names as they continue to pass it to the next person.

When you enter in a children's room/hall and give the document to the first child, do not expect the same thing to happen. Here is a couple of things that could happen;

🎯The first child will use her crayons to start shading the paper.

🎯 She will call her best friend they start shading together.

🎯 Another will draw a cow on it, or draw their little baby who is back at home.

🎯 Another will make two holes on it and make it a face mask and start scaring other children.

🎯 Another will tear a piece of it as they fight for the paper and now the paper will be in halves.

🎯 The one who was shading will put the half paper in her bag to go show it to her mother in the evening.

🎯 The other half will be shredded manually into small pieces by their tiny hands and not a single piece of it will remain.

At the end, you will not achieve what you wanted.

What I simply mean by this example, is that you simply don't address children they way you adress adults.

Do not assume they all know what they are supposed to do.

This is a group of people where you have to keep on repeating a point and not just talking, but in a very entertaining way.

To sum it up, it needs someone who is passionate about children, and one who can withstand all their personalities in patience and love.

At times, after we are done with the 8-4-4 system, or after we complete that a course in the higher learning institution, that's when we realize that what we specialized in is not what we are passionate about.

That means, financial resources were invested to gain the knowledge that we didn't want to expertise in. In addition, time, which is of essence was also used for 2, 3, 4 or more years in a course that you would have instead wished to learn something that you love.

I'd admit that the 8-4-4 system has really contributed to this situation, with the fact that once a student is admitted for a course he/she doesn't love, it's very hard for one to change it.

For those students who come from stable families, they are lucky since they can sponsor themselves the course that they love.

However, I'm very glad about the CBC system that takes into consideration all the personalities of a student and not academia intelligence alone.

At times, we parents complain that it's demanding, but I believe this is the best system that will help shape the future of an individual from a very young age career wise. This will help the individual to shape his life easily once he is released to the world.

However, for those who specialized in something different from what they love, it is not yet over for you. Join our webinars and further consultations of how you can maneuver through. . .

In addition, we have a webinar this week on Thursday, 8:00-9:00 PM EAT. On how you can discover you unique spot in case you do not know yet. Join us and learn more.

06/12/2023

For a long time I yearned to know the special and unique gift that God created me for. For a long time I wondered what is it that is in me, if I utilize it, it will bring me the joy and satisfaction in my heart.

I was clueless for so long such that I came to a conclusion that only some people have talents, but still I really yearned to be among them. Only sometime later did I realize that my gift lied in one of my greatest fears.

The fear of public speaking.

This fear would make me even cancel significant deals and opportunities just so as not to speak in public.

However!!! The moment I realized my gift, I made the bold decision to face my fears and I have never turned back, and I can truly say that it has been the best decision that I have ever made in my life.

As a coach today, specifically in the career sector, I help individuals discover whom they truly are, and what they were tailor made to be in this world. A process that involves analyzing their strengths and weaknesses among other significant information from the said individual.

From transforming those who have similar thoughts that I had years back, (that only a few people who have talents/gifts) to helping them discover whom they are and where best they fit in career wise and walking the career journey with them.

Nothing gives my heart satisfaction and joy, than to see people who had no clue of themselves career wise, start shaping their lives through their respective careers, and daring the big dream.

I wouldn't be more happier to deliver the same message on Thursday, tomorrow from 8:00-9:00 PM. We are already elated by the responses we've got from the registration, if you've not yet done so, kindly do so with the link below. Register, and get to also leave any question you would want it answered on the session.
