Hands of Hope Initiative Joined Kilifi organizations,Human Rights Defenders, CSOs, and community members for a peaceful march against femicide. Our commitment,as Hands of Hope Initiative is to raise awareness against gender-based violence and other retrogressive cultural practices.
GBV impacts every aspect of an individual’s life, including their mental health.Women who experience violence are 3-5 times more likely to be diagnosed with PTSD, depression, experience suicidal ideation, and problems with substance use.
When women experience violent trauma, their mental health is in serious jeopardy. It not only affects their present and their future but also impacts the future of their families and loved ones.
If you have experienced Gender-Based Violence, know that you are not alone. And it is not your fault.
Hands Of Hope Initiative Offers information on different mental illnesses, treatment options, and ways to support yourself and others.
