cambodian new year 🇰🇭

the entire city turns into one giant water fight… and somehow it turns into one of the most joyful, welcoming, unforgettable experiences

and a reminder:

if you ever get the chance…
go dance in the street with the locals

you will not regret it

have you ever experienced something like this while traveling?

i thought i was prepared for southeast asia…

but nothing really prepares you for it

the heat, the noise, the movement — it hits you all at once

it’s chaotic
and overwhelming
and somehow… kind of beautiful

you just have to let go a little
and lean into it

have you ever been somewhere that felt like this?

13/04/2026

nothing could have prepared me 😅
if you’ve been to southeast asia… you get it

a very specific travel tip… learned the hard way 😅

put your sunscreen on BEFORE you get dressed

or you will end up with a very unfortunate strip of sunburned armpit

you’re welcome

tell me your most unhinged travel mistake so i feel better about this

everything i ate on a saigon food tour 🇻🇳

honestly one of my favorite ways to experience a new place is through the food — and doing it with a local guide makes it even better

so many things i never would have ordered on my own… and now i’m still thinking about them 😅

would you do a food tour when you travel?

Japan and Vietnam feel like completely different worlds.

One is quiet, orderly, almost delicate.
The other is loud, chaotic, and completely alive.

And somehow… I love both.

Have you ever experienced a culture shock like this?

Jet lag isn’t just being tired.
It’s your brain just… opting out of reality.
Wrong floor.
No idea what day it is.
Time zones? Absolutely not.
This is how I deal with travel brain when it gets this bad (eventually 😅)

Tell me I’m not the only one who’s done something like this…

Japan is one of the quietest places I’ve ever been.

Not because it’s empty…
but because people move through it differently.

It’s something you don’t notice right away.

And then suddenly… you can’t un-notice it.

Have you ever been somewhere that felt completely different from what you expected?

You’ve probably seen videos about how impressive Japan is…
but it somehow goes even further than you expect 🇯🇵

From toilets that reuse water…
to restaurants run almost entirely by machines…
to trains so smooth you forget you’re moving…
And then there’s Mount Fuji…
which genuinely stops you in your tracks.

Japan doesn’t just do things differently —
it does everything all the way.

6 years ago, I made a decision that changed everything.
Not all at once.
Not overnight.
But slowly… steadily… everything started to shift.

Today, I’m in Vietnam.
A place I never could have imagined reaching in the life I used to live.

Sobriety didn’t just take something away —
it gave me everything I have now.
Clarity.
Freedom.
Connection.
And a life that actually feels like mine.

6 years sober.
And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
💛
