I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for everyone's support! I've been very busy this week in terms of school work and I have my first Immunology exam of the semester tomorrow, but I will be writing soon. 😊

Let's talk about Facebook Marketplace...

My plan was to go above and beyond for Valentine's Day so I figured I'd try searching Facebook for an Ipad for my boyfriend, rather than paying the higher retail prices at Best Buy.

I searched until I found exactly what I was looking for. An Ipad 7th generation for less than $200. I was thrilled.

I messaged back and forth with the seller as I have always done in my previous FB Marketplace transactions, supplied them payment and my address for shipment, the seller marked the listing as pending, then I ran and told Marcos because I just couldn’t keep my excitement a secret (they’re not kidding when they say giving feels better than receiving).

Within two days, the seller’s listing was nowhere to be found, along with their profile. I even had a friend search. I did not want to assume the worst, but it had already happened- I’d been scammed. If there ever was an Ipad, it definitely was not getting shipped. My initial reaction was shock. I immediately reported the person by the profile name of “Kayla Smith” to Facebook and contacted my bank to fill out a dispute form, etc. I have used Facebook Marketplace for multiple successful purchases in the past, however I have come to the conclusion that I will not be using this service again.

To say we were both disappointed would be an understatement.
My purpose in sharing this story is to raise awareness for you! Don’t rely on Facebook Marketplace as a safe source for product exchange. Please be careful and avoid this so the same thing does not happen to you.

Sincerely & Always,
Paige Bryan, LVT (Paige On Paper)

The Presidential Inauguration: 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
As we’re all aware, today marks another milestone marker in the United States. Despite the troubling events of the past, it is important to keep several things in mind:

▪️ No President is/has been/will ever be a perfect leader or representative. Humankind as a species is imperfect. We all suffer from our own imperfections daily, we make mistakes, forget, forgive, and get caught up in our own day to day inconveniences.
▪️The golden rule remains the golden rule- “Treat Others the way you’d want to be treated.” Regardless of political party/opinion, human values remain the same.
▪️As a civilian, do your part by staying out of trouble, following the rules, remaining kind, honest, and doing no intentional harm.
▪️We all have to live in this country together. At the end of the day, we all have different opinions, something that contributes greatly to our uniqueness as a species. Try your best to remember that and we should get along just fine.

Most importantly: remember that the media is often one-sided/influenced and that just because it’s online, on tv, pictured one way, NEVER necessarily means it must be true.

Have a awesome day everyone!!! 😊

COVID TESTING
Fictions vs. Facts 🧐🤔

“Omg when they swab your nose they’re actually touching your brain. And it really hurts bad.” 🧠
The test does involve a nasal swab. 👃🏼 However, the pain is not unbearable. I’d compare it to the sensation you feel when you don’t hold your nose well enough and chlorine surges upwards. It lasted five seconds.

“You have to book an appointment well in advance or you’re not going to get tested.”
I’ve been doing my testing thru WellNow Urgent Care. Where I sign up online at midnight the day of the test, time slots fill on a first come first serve basis.

“The wait to test takes FOREVER.”
I suggest booking an early appointment to ensure your time slot is handled as efficiently as possible. I tested once at 3:30pm and the wait time was two hours. I tested a second time at 1pm and was in/out within an hour. I had a friend test at 8am and was in/out in 10 minutes. It all depends on you and how timely every other patient arrives😂

Any covid testing questions? Ask me! I’ve been tested a few times now, for school and for work. Shoot me a comment or message 😊
