I was so proud to have been invited to be the Moderator for this podcast, Caribbean Migrant Masculinities, when we delved into some of the issues men, who had migrated to Nevis, were able to share some of their challenges, which has affected their emotional and physiological wellbeing.

We talk about acceptance and the issues surrounding the fact we were being born in a different country, and how we are perceived by nationals.

we talk about the positives, and negatives, of residing on the beautiful island of Nevis, and how resilience is a key part of maintaining our identities.

I just want to express massive thanks to Nevis TV, the Department of Gender Affairs and all the staff at Malcolm Guishard Recreation Park for organising such an an important event.

Some people are understandably a little apprehensive about considering hypnotherapy as a treatment, usually because of misconceptions by what they have seen on the television or in films. But when you think about the benefits that can come from Hypnosis, you’ll see it’s really worth it.

Hypnosis can help manage chronic pain – If you have a disease or ailment that leaves you in frequent pain like Fibromyalgia, Arthritis or Migraines then you already know that sometimes it feels like nothing will stop the pain.

You can use hypnosis and meditation techniques when drugs and diet have not helped you manage your condition. Many of us are caught up in emotionally charged situations, which we seem to make us unable to cope with effectively, affecting our everyday life on some emotional and physiological level. These can cause stress, depression, anger, low self esteem, lack of sleep, cause some of us to be unhappy with our bodies, turn to addictions etc.

As a Complementary Therapist, having studied a number of disciplines over the years, including Clinical Hypnotherapy, Mental Health First Aid, Rapid Pain Eliminator Therapist, Counsellor, NLP Practitioner, Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner, I utilise my skills to be as empathetic and understanding as possible to help those who are serious about making positive changes to their lives.

I find that using Hypnotherapy can be the most effective way of allowing my clients to make these changes. Hypnotherapy is a technique where the client is provided with self-help techniques to use on themselves after each session.
