Triage is the system we use at JNF Hospital to ensure that the sickest patients are seen first, based on the urgency of their condition — not the order they arrive. Over the next few days, we’ll walk you through the 4 color-coded categories used in triage. Stay informed!

Today, we’re starting with the most urgent category: 🔴 RED.
This level is for patients who need immediate life-saving treatment.

St. Kitts and Nevis is showing up strong this week at CARPHA’s big Regional Workshop in Kingston, Jamaica! From July 8–11, our team is taking part in important talks on how to better prepare for and respond to public health emergencies across the Caribbean.

The theme? “Strengthening Emergency & Response and Integrated Early Warning Systems (EWS)” — all about improving how we detect, prevent, and respond to threats like pandemics.

Key focus areas include:

Upgrading early warning and lab systems

Training and building up our public health teams

Learning CARPHA’s new Timeless Metrics Strategy

Improving teamwork across sectors and using data for smarter decisions

This kind of regional collaboration helps us protect not just St. Kitts and Nevis — but the entire Caribbean.
