APG provides important information regarding arterial stiffness. Increased stiffness is associated with most cardiovascular risk factors and established atherosclerosis.

In the waveform:
a and c are used to calculate others

b indicates how much blood the heart releases per beat. The lower the value is, the healthier the artery is.

d indicates how much blood still remains around the fingertips. The healthier the artery is, the less blood remains.

Pulse wave velocity (PWV) test is the most widely used to diagnose Atherosclerosis. Unfortunately, PWV does not detect the early symptoms or stage of atherosclerosis.

However, accelerated plethysmography (APG) test can indicate every step of arterial status which might indicate atherosclerosis process. APG reflects arterial and peripheral elasticity and predicts the level of arterial status. In this way, patients can prevent their artery walls from being stuck with the deposits.

APG provides important information regarding arterial stiffness. Increased stiffness is associated with most cardiovascular risk factors and established atherosclerosis. These levels are designated based on the APG waveform.

Level 1: Blood circulation and arterial status are great.
Level 2: Blood circulation and arterial status are still good but a buildup of plaque might begin.
Level 3~4: Blood circulation and arterial status have been poor.
Level 5: Blood circulation and arterial status are deteriorated and inner walls become narrowed.
Level 6~7: Blood circulation disorder is detected. Detailed medical checkup is required.

When you are stressed out the balance of autonomic nervous system is broken. Then this unbalanced autonomic nervous system has an effect on heart rate. So if you can track back heart rate variability, you will be able to know how much you are stressed out mentally physically.

UMON detects your heart rate variability and indicates how much you are stressed out mentally physically.

Another function of UMON is the Breathing Training. If you go to the Breathing training on the application, the black dot will move up and down along with the line. When the dot goes, slowly inhale. When the dot goes down exhale. In this way, the users can activate parasympathetic nervous system. Then their stress level will be depreciated.

UMON can evaluate my overall health status. I didn’t feel good these days. I think I was tired. Today morning, I took UMON test and the result indicated that my body condition is bad, and I am mentally stressed out. Good thing is that my arterial status is excellent. I worked out for the last few days and it had an effect on my condition.

You can manage your health at home like me with UMON.

Autonomic nervous system is very important. The autonomic nervous system consists of two primary branches, the sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system, and plays a critical role.

The sympathetic nervous system directs the body's rapid involuntary response to dangerous or stressful situations.

The parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for the body's rest and digestion response when the body is relaxed, resting, or feeding.

Healthy people have the well-balanced autonomic nervous system. If the balance of autonomic nervous system is broken, it causes many issues such as chronic fatigue and depression. If you are stressed too much, getting an autonomic nervous function test will be helpful.

I would like to explain parameters used for HRV test.

SDNN: stand for standard deviation normal to normal which means the deviation of heart rate variability. If this value reduces, that means autonomic nervous system is not functioning properly.

RMSSD: means a square root of SDNN. It usually indicates parasympathetic nervous system. If both SDNN and RMSSD drop below 10, he or she has a high possibility of sudden cardiac death.

TP: stands for total power. It indicates total autonomic nervous system activity.

LF: indicates both sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system but is usually utilized as sympathetic nervous system.

HF: indicates parasympathetic nervous system.

LF norm/HF norm: means the percentage that LF accounts for out of LF+HF and HF norm means the percentage that HF accounts for out of LF+HF. Basically in this indicator, the most important thing is the balance of LH and HF. Usually LH norm is 1.5 times higher than HF norm.

LF/HF ratio: also shows the balance of sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system. This index is proportional to sympathetic nervous system activity and inversely proportional to parasympathetic nervous system.

Autonomic nervous system consists of sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system and plays a critical role in regulating process of homeostasis.

However, external stimuli such as stress, lack of sleep, depression, anxiety and chronic fatigue result in the unbalanced autonomic nervous status.

Therefore, if you check whether autonomic nervous system is properly functioning you can track back your health status.

You might ask how you check your autonomic nervous system.
Autonomic nervous system has an effect on heart rate. If you can analysis your heart rate variability, you will be able to find out the status of your autonomic nervous system.

Autonomic Nervous System and Immune System

The autonomic nervous system consists of two primary branches, the sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system, and plays a critical role in regulating processes of homeostasis.

This autonomic nervous system also plays key roles in regulating neuroimmune interactions.

If the balance of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system is broken, it influences the immune system.

If you want to maintain your immunity and stay healthy, the key is to maintain your autonomic nervous system.

What Has an effect on Your Heart Rate?

We are consistently influenced by external and internal stimulus such as emotional effect, cardiovascular diseases, neuropathy, stress and aging. Then, autonomic nervous system is also influenced by the stimulus. This influenced autonomic nervous system also has an effect on your heart rate.

In fact, the first electrical impulse generated form sinoatrial node is regular. However the influenced autonomic nervous system has an effect on regular heart rate. That is why your heart rate becomes irregular.

our product measures this heart rate variability and tracks back if your autonomic nervous system is properly functioning.
