Making kids eat, especially those fussy picky eaters can really be frustrating and stressful. Right?

So today I have got for you the 1st tip or say one of the most common mistake parents do to make their children eat

Tips No.1: Never treat the child with desserts or sweets after every meal 🍬🍭🚫

I see so many parents around me, do this. Because they want their child to eat, they tempt them by offering sweets or desserts after meals.

Well, this is what makes your child grow into a PICKY EATER.

No matter what you try after that, once habituated they will never eat without the dessert.

Stay tuned for the next tip.

Also some love if you, if you like my first try with reels🙈☺

Do you always approach fat loss and losing weight by increasing your gym time or dieting harder? Well, there’s an easier way!

Amongst all the lifestyle changes that one could adopt for sustainable FAT LOSS is a concept called N.E.A.T.

🤔WHAT IS N.E.A.T?
NEAT- stands for, Non-exercise activity thermogenesis.

These are the little activities you can throughout the day when you are not sleeping or Working out.

✅SOME EXAMPLES OF NEAT INCLUDE:
●Walking during phone calls
● Walking 20minutes post every meal (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
●10 Squats/ 10 Jumping Jacks/ 2 Suryanamaskar every 1 hour
●Stand More. Be standing on your desk rather than sitting
●Do your own chores. Wash your dishes. Wash your car by hand
●Calf Raises, while standing to cook or brushing your teeth
●Increase your pace/speed in doing things. Example: Finish bathing in 5 minutes vs 10
●Stretch or do a wall sit while watching T.V
●Walk fast in the malls or talking on the phone
● Park your car further away from a parking spot, so you can get additional steps.
●Squat to pick up something from the floor
● Take the stairs, Skip the elevators
●Walk to the nearby grocery store and carry your groceries instead of pushing a cart

All of this is doable, no matter how busy you are, and what the nature of your job is. Be creative as you can.

Every movement, every stretch counts. Even if you only burn 100 calories a day with NEAT activities, multiply that by seven days in a week.

All the little movements add up to a considerable amount of calorie burn and change your thinking, and your way of life

⛔P.S: NEAT movements are not a free ticket to eat more, or sneak in extra cookies and cupcakes, or not exercise, Fat loss will never coincide with a couch-potato lifestyle

🍒Fruits are amongst the healthiest foods available to man. When it comes to fruits, there are some rules about eating them. Because it makes a lot of difference, by the way you consume them

👇👇
🧃🚫 EAT- DON’T DRINK: Because when you juice it, you are just drinking Colored Sugar Water, which has lost all its nutrients

🥘🚫 DON’T EAT WITH OR AFTER MEALS: WHY?
1. DISTURBS DIGESTION
2. ALL THE IMPORTANT VITAMINS-MINERALS ARE LOST
3. ADDS TO THE EXTRA CALORIE POOL - WEIGHT GAIN

🍌✅ EAT FRUITS THAT ARE LOCAL AND SEASONAL: Fruits that don’t come from your country or geography are pluck from the tree much before they are ripe and thus it doesn’t have complete nutrients 😑
In addition, they are sprayed with lots of chemicals and pesticides to unnaturally ripen and preserve them🧪

SO BASICALLY YOU CONSUME A FRUIT WITH LESS NUTRIENTS AND MORE PESTICIDES🥴

⭐⭐⭐
SO WHATS THE BEST TIME TO EAT A FRUIT?
✅ On an empty stomach or at least 30-45 minutes before meals
✅ As a mid meal, i.e in between breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner
✅ Fruits such as banana, apple, papaya, pears etc. can be eaten for breakfast

💫EAT SMART. MOVE MORE. SLEEP RIGHT

Drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices to detoxify the body and promote weight loss is one of the latest trends of healthy eating in the world.

😕But is it really “HEALTHY”?

Let me help you know the difference and YOU DECIDE WHICH IS HEALTHY!

🧃FRUIT JUICE:

1) HIGH SUGAR CONTENT - leads to sudden spike in your blood sugar levels
Even if you opt for homemade fruit juices, it is still an extra source of SUGAR with some amounts of micronutrients such as VITAMIN C and POTASSIUM

2) LACK OF FIBER: Fiber of the whole fruit is lost while juicing (SO basically it’s as same as drinking a Soft drink)

3) INCREASES ACIDITY

4) CALORIES: That glass of juice — even if it’s 100 percent fruit juice — is loaded with unnecessary calories
For example: if you ate an orange its 60 calories but if you drank one 240 ml glass of orange juice it is about 120-180 calories with 21 grams of sugar 🤯

🥬VEGETABLE JUICE:

1) Vegetable juices have low sugar content, therefore, adds low calories and sugar to the body

2) Vegetable juice will provide with good amount of fiber which acts as a PREBITOIC, which you require to keep your digestive system healthy

3) When we juice the vegetables and drink them with fiber intact, and we get the immediate rush of instant goodness, which means far more absorption and bioavailability of vitamins and minerals and ANTIOXIDANTS 💥

4) What will it do to your body? In less than two weeks, you will notice the difference in your hair, skin, immunity, and vitality..

So choose right, live right👍💪

My early morning routine to give my day a kick start: Handful of soaked nuts and raisins 🥜

❔Why soak nuts?
The skin of the nuts makes it difficult to digest, it also contains tannis that inhibits the nutrient absorption.

Soaking makes them easier to chew and digest. It also decreases the phytic acid levels (phytic acid decreases the absorption of zinc, magnesium, calcium etc from the nuts)

Benefits:
✅ Helps relive period cramps
✅ IMMENSLY good for hairfall
✅ Great if you have low energy levels or feel tired through out the day
✅ Relives PMS symptoms
✅ Drops down acidity
✅ Reduces cravings (sweet or salty)

🔺️Eat this within 20 minutes of waking up

Remember that fitness is built one step at a time by small daily actions. The body rewards consistency. Be consistent with this practice

Following my last post if you are the one constantly using refined vegetable oil for cooking and confused about which oil to pick! Here’s the answer

Let us go back to the traditional times when the technology of refining and processing was not available. Which also kept our ancestors away from all the diseases like heart attacks, diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity etc.

✔Use unrefined Cold pressed seed oils (KACHI GHANI) instead of refined vegetable oils

🌡Cold pressed oils (kacchi ghani) are extracted in a heat-controlled environment.
It helps to preserve the much required and precious natural nutrients, antioxidants, flavor, aroma and even helps the food to taste better.

⭐Top varieties of oils/fats you must opt for:
1) Extra virgin olive oil
2) Cold pressed Coconut oil
3) Cold pressed peanut/ groundnut oil
4) Cold pressed Sesame oil
5) Cold pressed Mustard oil
6) Ghee/ Butter

⛔Oils to Avoid:
1) Soybean oil
2) Corn oil
3) Cottonseed oil
4) Sunflower oil
5) Safflower oil
6) Rice bran oil
Remember there are host of other oils that are available in the market such as canola oil, vegetable oils etc.
Always be conscious about the word REFINED/PROCESSED.

Footnote:
Moderation is the key. Be mindful about how much you consume. On an average, one should not consume more than 4-5 tsp of cooking oil per day.

Choose the right oil for your cooking, enjoy your meals, and stay healthy.

With the times changing the food companies have been coming up with various versions of "HEALTHY" breads.

🥪One such bread is BROWN BREAD

As we all know that white bread is made up of maida and can be bad for health. Hence most of us decided to switch onto brown bread as it looks and claims to be healthy due to the color.

🤯But is it really the truth?

Let's dig into the truth:

✔The brown bread which you see is nothing but your normal bread with added caramelised sugar or brown dye

🏷Whenever you buy a bread pack look for the ingredients behind.
If you see terms like "wheat flour" or "enriched flour" or "added wheat flour" (or similar) know that white flour (maida) was used, not whole-wheat flour

❓How to buy the best bread?
1. 100% WHOLE WHEAT Flour as the first ingredient on the label
2. 5-6 grams of fiber per 2-slice serving
3. Less than 400mg of sodium per 2 slice serving

Puddings do not taste salty, but still has more sodium than French fries! 🤔

Following on my last stories I have many queries asking that how can a dessert contain more sodium than fries when it does not even taste salty

Well, This sodium is from salt and sodium-containing ADDITIVES in the pudding mix (disodium phosphate and tetra sodium pyrophosphate)

These additives are used to help THICKEN instantly and PRESERVE it for long time

😮That is, eating just 1 bowl of instant pudding would supply more than 20 percent (460mg) of the daily sodium recommendation for most adults

🧂We Indians consume around 5000mg of sodium perday (11g of salt), which is more than twice above the WHO's recommended maxium intake of 5g salt /day

🙅‍♀️And, this excess sodium increases blood pressure, your risk of stroke, heart failure, osteoporosis, stomach cancer, kidney disease etc.

So if you are hypertensive or have been told to cut down your salt intake, its time for you to eliminate all of such processed foods and packaged foods you've been eating, EVEN FOODS THAT MAY NOT SEEM SALTY

Constipation is the outcome of modern civilization and is a condition that plagues millions all across the world

Our body has 5 eliminatory organs: Lungs , Kidneys , Skin , Liver and Colon (being the most important !)

💩The colon holds the most toxic waste from our body (stool), and the inability to p**p regularly, having HARD, DRY BOWEL MOVEMENTS, OR GOING FEWER THAN THREE TIMES A WEEK can be defined as constipation

It is important to understand that constipation is a SYMPTOM, NOT A DISEASE, but chronic constipation can lead to deadly diseases in the long run

Let’s picture what happens when colon holds on waste:
🤢When you do not p**p regularly, waste material, hormones and toxins are reabsorbed in the body

❌This toxins leads to poor blood sugar control, poor appetite control (hinders weight loss), skin diseases (Acne), hairfall etc.

😧The toxic matter starts hardening up inside the colon which can make defecation very painful leading to fissures and haemorrhoids (piles) in extreme cases

👃Formation of toxic gases that can get into the blood stream and circulate all over the body and cells leading to bad breath and body odour

🎗Constipation is one of the most common trait seen in cancer patients, apart from low Vitamin D3 levels

🤺Since 70-80% immunity lies in our gut, a toxic colon can damage immunity

😭A significant portion of the body’s SEROTONIN – KNOWN AS THE HAPPY HORMONE – is produced in the gut. So when your bowel movements are off so will be your mood

So no matter what your health goal is , if you are constipated , your first focus should be on elimination
