Red light therapy (RLT)—also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation (PBM)—is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared (NIR) light to support pain reduction, tissue repair, and overall healing. We include red light therapy where beneficial as a part of our therapies here at Synergy.
What Red Light Therapy Does;

RLT delivers light in the 630–700 nm (red) and 780–1100 nm (near-infrared) ranges. These wavelengths can pe*****te skin and tissue, where they:

🔹 1. Increase Cellular Energy

Light stimulates mitochondria, increasing the production of ATP (cell energy), which supports faster healing.

🔹 2. Reduce Inflammation

RLT may downregulate inflammatory markers and upregulate antioxidant defenses.

It encourages vasodilation and microcirculation, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to tissues.

Dr. Patti Farrell is a passionate, caring, evidence-based chiropractor from Toronto, Canada. Dr. Farrell graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts degree with an Honours Specialization in Kinesiology. She then continued her education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Canada where she obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and graduated in 2016 with Honours. Growing up as an active individual, chiropractic care helped her greatly in her life, and she has always wanted to do the same for others. In the midst of COVID, Dr. Farrell left Toronto and moved to Grand Cayman in 2020 to continue pursuing her chiropractic career.

Dr. Farrell uses a diversified technique of chiropractic and is certified in Active Release Therapy (ART), as well as Contemporary Medical Acupuncture. Her patient-specific and patient-centered treatment plans are 30-40 minutes long and incorporate a variety of manual therapy techniques which may include ART, soft tissue techniques, manual adjusting and/or joint mobilizations, acupuncture, as well as education and active rehabilitation programs. She believes in an individualized, evidence-based approach in order to help her patients achieve their optimal health, function, and well-being using these techniques and multidisciplinary care. Dr. Farrell has experience treating a wide variety of individuals from children to seniors, office workers, athletes, concussion patients, prenatal and postnatal, as well as experience with many different orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.

In her spare time, Dr. Farrell enjoys running, scuba diving, travelling, going to the beach, and experiencing many of the joys this island has to offer. She hopes to educate and motivate her patients to help them live their happiest, healthiest, best lives.
