Paediatric Diabetes and Nutrition Advocate through annual and other timely charity events will aim to help in providing proper care to at least 10 Children per year. Through these events, parents who have difficulty catering to the special needs of their Diabetic child will receive some aid in doing so. The foundation seeks to engage both Government and Non-Government Organizations in order to solicit more modern management equipment and teaching aids to allow for decreased mortality relating to Diabetic Complications. Research shows that Paediatric Diabetes is increasing worldwide; Jamaica is becoming more globalized in our cuisine and lifestyle choices are ever changing putting us within that scope.
2007 publication showed that there are more than 300,000 individuals between 14-75 with Diabetes in Jamaica. Having an organization that gives a voice to the young individuals with Diabetes whose parents may even be unaware that their child is Diabetic is very important in safeguarding our future generation. This organization is here to lend our support to help with the many complications such a Diabetic Keto-acidosis, Kidney Disease and many more unnamed challenges that these families are faced with daily. We seek to engaged all community members and local enterprises to aid in addressing or adopting some of these young children or their difficulties in order to make their lives easier. Our aim is to start the movement of change in the Jamaican society; showing how necessary it it to teach our children from a very young age the importance of healthy eating in order to help the body fight invasion from all forms of infection.
