Transformation is messy...

Whether transforming your home or transforming yourself, it gets messy, disjointed, and can leave you wondering if it's worth it.

I'm here to tell you to trust the process. The outcome is worth it!

It's Monday! Can you believe August is next week?!?!

No one in my home is ready for school to start, that's including me.

I'm putting yesterday mornings breakdown behind me and in turn am staying positive for our future.

My plans for the week ahead:
+ client work
+ finish the foster kitten room ceiling
+ re-paint the kitten room wall now that it's been patched & sanded
+ put kitten room back together
+ convince Jer to build more stuff🤞🏻

Then of course all the family stuff like dinners, dishes, laundry, cleaning, laughing, chatting, going places, etc.

Now what are the chances the kitten room will get pushed off 🤔 85-90%. But, that's the reality's of life, things happen.

Hi friends! It me in my feed, thought I'd reintroduce myself.

Designing is my passion, whether it's a room, a whole house, a piece of furniture, cabinetry, a logo, mural, furniture plan or art. I find it all unique and fulfilling.

Fun facts:

+ my 2 sets of ivf twins are technically quads born 4 years apart.

+ I love math & still help my high schoolers with it.

+ In high school, I babysat for a few families who were in a cult. I didn't exactly realize it until after news reports of family members trying to get their kids out of it & the "church" relocated everyone to Florida. I thought it was odd no tv & most books had black sharpie covering words/sentences & kids went to bed listening to sermons on tape.

+ since March I have frozen shoulder in both shoulders

+ the ocean is my happiest place

+schitt's creek is my fav, I've seen it many many times.

Manifesting without realizing.

In middle school & high school, I drew house plans to scale. They always had 5+ bedrooms, a home office & an apartment for my parents so they could help with kids.⁠

Decades later, I'd have 4 kids & need all those bedrooms. My mom was their daycare, while I worked from my home office. No apt tho, since my parents lived 4 miles away from us for 7 years. ⁠

Funny, manifesting wasn't even a thing then. Interesting how life turns out sometimes

We have lights!🎉🎉🎉

Affordable Design Tip - there are so many inexpensive modern lights on Amazon & other places too.

Our primary bathroom needs a full gut, but that is $$$$$ (even with doing it ourselves) 🥺

I believe everyone should enjoy where they live NOW. Not hate it until they can save for a full remodel.

Hating where you live is terrible for your mental health.

There are so many ways to take what you have and make it better at a low cost. I can help you with that. 🙌🏻

I finally decided to add sconces back in instead of capping & patching the holes. I'm glad we did, I use them every night when I get ready for bed.

Best part is they were just under $38 each light or almost $76 for both.🎉🙌🏻👏🏻

Happy Friday! This is me at my oldest son's college orientation earlier this month trying to hold it together. Yep, it's true! I have adult children. gulp. that is hard to say. 2 - 18 yo's who ran off to do adult things like get tattoos & register to vote. Ok, so they didn't run, they drove and we've known about the tattoos long before they got one.

No, we aren't making them pay rent and not much has changed in that aspect. ⁠
⁠
June is almost over & my son informed me he only has a month left at home. It's actually 7 weeks, I checked. It's sinking in this is our last summer as a family of 6 (8 if you count the cats) ⁠

So I'm over here trying to keep it together by space planning his room and all that we need to get. I just started putting in the computer. He has a single. I'll share the plans when I've had time to figure things out and run it by him. ⁠

My daughter is living at home since her college is close. Thank goodness, not sure this mama heart could handle 2 gone at once. We are currently in the process of planning a few things in her "dorm" room (it's actually her bedroom) but we want it to feel extra special too. ⁠
