🔥 Myth vs Truth 🔥

Myth: “It’s safe to smoke or light candles around oxygen since it’s only in a tube.”

Truth: Oxygen doesn’t burn, but it fuels fire, making flames spread faster and stronger. That’s why smoking, candles, or any open flame near oxygen therapy is extremely dangerous.

At Oxia, your safety is our top priority. 💙
✨ Always keep oxygen equipment away from flames, heat, or sparks.
✨ Store cylinders securely and follow your care team’s advice.

Because breathing better should always mean living safer. 🌿

Wondering if Oxygen Therapy Can Stop Snoring? Here’s What You Need to Know!

Snoring might be annoying, but did you know it can also be a sign that your airway is partially blocked during sleep?

While oxygen therapy helps boost your oxygen levels, it doesn’t usually fix snoring itself, because snoring is more about airflow and anatomy than oxygen concentration.

If snoring is loud and happens often, it might be sleep apnea, a condition that needs specific treatments like CPAP or lifestyle changes.

So, if you’re waking up tired or your partner complains about the noise, don’t just brush it off — get it checked! Your good night’s sleep matters.

Did you know that the right oxygen therapy can help you sleep deeper, feel more energized, and support your body’s natural healing?

Here are a few tips to get the most out of it:

🌙 Use your device as prescribed, especially if you have sleep apnea or nighttime desaturation
🧼 Keep your mask/cannula clean to reduce irritation and improve airflow
🛌 Create a calm sleep environment – Cool, dark, and distraction-free
💧 Use a humidifier if needed – Helps prevent dry nose and throat overnight
📋 Review your flow settings – Make sure they’re adjusted for rest hours

💙 Sleep is the body’s repair time. Oxygen helps it do the job right.

Oxygen can dry out your nose, throat, and airways, especially in hot, dry weather. A humidifier adds moisture to the oxygen stream, improving comfort.

🔹 Use distilled water only
Tap water contains minerals and bacteria that can harm your lungs and damage your equipment.

🔹 Change the water daily
Bacteria grow quickly in warm, stagnant water — always empty, rinse, and refill the bottle every 24 hours.

🔹 Clean weekly
Wash the bottle with mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and let it air dry.

11/08/2025

In hot weather, some patients find masks more comfortable, especially during short rest periods or when higher oxygen flow is needed.
✔️ Tip: Use a mask in cool, shaded areas to avoid sweating or irritation.

Cleanliness is Key!
Summer sweat and heat increase the risk of bacteria. Clean masks, cannulas, and tubing more frequently to avoid irritation and infection.

Not sure what works best for you this season? We’ll guide you!
