Piton Flore Hike - In Honour of Women's History Month

Let's look back on our hike up Piton Flore in Forestiere, named after Ms Flore Bois Gaillard.

Flore Bois Gaillard was a tireless champion for women’s rights, social justice and national development. At a time when women’s voices were often marginalized, she stood boldly at the forefront of activism, advocating for greater participation of women in leadership and public life. Through her work in community organizing and national advocacy, she helped open doors for generations of Saint Lucian women to engage in civic life and pursue leadership roles.

Her legacy is deeply rooted in empowerment, courage and service. Flore Bois Gaillard believed that the progress of a nation depended on the inclusion and advancement of its women, and she dedicated much of her life to ensuring that women had the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to society.

As we reflect during Women’s History Month, we celebrate Flore Bois Gaillard not only for her historic contributions, but also for the path she helped pave for the women leaders, farmers, entrepreneurs and changemakers of today. Her story reminds us that the struggle for equality and opportunity requires bold voices and unwavering commitment.

We honour her strength, remember her impact, and continue the work she so passionately began

Pebble Beach was another epic adventure. Nothing like soaking in the natural salt pools after a scenic walk along St. Lucia's rugged Atlantic coastline.
