Today’s little win: we helped one of our patients learn how to compare prices and figure out which product is cheaper.

It may seem like a small skill, but for her, it’s a big step toward independence and confidence in everyday life.

Small Steps, Big effort

Today, I was helping a patient with basic arithmetic—just simple addition and subtraction. We had gone over the same concepts a while back, but when we started again today, he had forgotten most of it. So, we went back and repeated everything.

It was a reminder that progress isn’t always linear. Sometimes, learning isn’t about moving forward every day but about patiently reinforcing what was learned before. And that’s okay. Repetition, patience, and encouragement can make a difference, no matter how small.

Today, I had the privilege of witnessing something beautiful. A patient picked up their pencils and, stroke by stroke, brought a garden to life on paper. Not just any garden—their garden.

For them, art isn't just an escape; it's a language. One where words don’t have to be perfect, but emotions can be understood.

Yesterday, we engaged in art therapy with 2 patients. One patient wanted to draw about her garden and her family. The other patient wanted to draw a tree. We believe drawing pictures helps them express their emotions.

Yesterday, we followed up on 2 patients and we found out that they are able to do basic arithmetic. They were able to calculate the change after buying groceries. We hope to help more people like them in the near future

Hello everyone! It's been a long time. Yesterday, we followed up on a patient we worked with before and realised that now he's able to carry out basic arithmetic without using a piece of paper. He was able to calculate the change he gets after buying several grocery items.
