Born in a very remote village in the southern province of Sri Lanka on March 16, 1986, I was the youngest of the six siblings of the family. Since a very young age, I was very religious-minded, which may be due to Samsaric habits, and at the age of seven I was ordained as a novice monk with the blessings of my parents who in the beginning showed no interest. After ordination I was able to get more knowledge about Buddhism and at the university, where I read my BA in Pali (Hons), I had more exposure to read about other religions and philosophies. I was also interested in psychology therefore I`ve got a diploma in psychological counseling and Buddhist psychology. After twenty years of my Bhikkhu (monk’s) life, I had experience in meditation under various teachers at forest monasteries, and now being a teacher of meditation at national and international level, I help ordinary people to overcome their problems. My prior concern is to teach meditation and the basics of Buddha’s doctrine to the world in a way the ordinary people could use them in their life.
We are in a state of unrest and being stranded because we are not able to understand ourselves. Most of the people find it difficult to manage their life due to absence of knowledge of how to arrange targets in their life. Since very childhood we are striving for happiness. So are the adults. We always postpone our happiness till the future moment. What does it mean? It means no one enjoys the moment, but hopes to enjoy it in future under some conditions. We should understand ‘suffering’ mentally and physically and our aim should be to defeat suffering and maintain happiness every moment, throughout our life. The main obstacle is the inability to control our thoughts. We are strong if we can live without problems, bad will, misunderstanding, fights between children and parents, husband and wife, between friends and relatives. Then happiness does not leave us. Our bad thoughts are the reason why our mind becomes polluted. If we do not collide with that mentally, we do not become victims of our thoughts. Loving kindness means affectionate feeling. First of all, we should spread loving kindness to ourselves, our lives. There are doctors to cure all the physical illnesses but we ourselves should treat our mind. The best treatment is loving kindness. If we get used to look at our life with loving kindness, we never collide the obstacles. A mind that does not collide, is free, clear, peaceful and calm. A calm mind does not take aggressive decisions. So, it is essential to maintain loving kindness if you want to lead a happy life. At our meetings we will give you the knowledge of loving kindness meditation taught by Buddha, which will give you a key to lead a happy life. Based on years of my experience, I can assure you that you will immensely benefit from it. The loving kindness meditation is very powerful, people who were about to commit su***de due to various problems and those thinking of divorce due to family matters are now leading happy lives because they practice the loving kindness meditation. With great compassion I kindly invite you to join our program and learn the way to win your life.
