Yaden Laboratories first to export Sri Lankan-made sterile liquid injectables

Yaden Laboratories Ltd., has achieved a significant milestone with its first export of sterile liquid injectables to Zambia country in Africa.

The company, which manufactures sterile formulation medicines, has been catering to the requirements of the Ministry of Health Sri Lanka and now aims to expand its reach globally.

The export consignment consists of essential medicines, including Ketamine and Midazolam injections, used for anaesthesia and sedation purposes.

A 100% Sri Lankan owned pharmaceutical manufacturer in Katunayake Export Processing Zone Sri Lanka, Yaden Laboratories has been operational since October 2022.

The event was graced by Board of Investment (BOI) Katunayake Zone Director Ranjan Sebera, in the presence of Yaden Laboratories Chairman and Managing Director Shashimal Dissanayake, and CEO Prakash Babu.

Chairman/MD Dissanayake said: “This is the pharmaceutical first-ever export of sterile formulation medicine made in Sri Lanka to Zambia country in Africa.

In the upcoming week we are exporting to the Somalia country in Africa, and by November month we will be exporting to Azerbaijan country in Europe- Asia Continent also we expect to export to many other countries in the near future as well.”

CEO Babu said: “I am proud to be part of this remarkable milestone to mark this momentous occasion. After having successfully supplied about 6 million units of medicines in the Sri Lanka market, we’re thrilled to take our sterile formulation medicines to Zambia. This export success will open doors to new opportunities.”

BOI Zone Director Ranjan Sebera said: “I’m delighted to see Yaden Laboratories – a successful local manufacturer – now exporting internationally. BOI is committed to supporting export-oriented industries, and we look forward to more Sri Lankan companies succeeding globally.”

🎉 The Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Manufacturers' Association extends its heartfelt congratulations to Immediate Past President, Mr. Kalana Gamini Hewamallika, Chairman of GammaInterpharm (Pvt) Ltd.
