The Asia-Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC) is a landmark conference in the field of Medical Education, held annually, and continuously growing in prominence. Over the years, it has been able to attract participants not only from the Asia-Pacific region but also from across the globe. The APMEC provides a forum for medical educators, researchers, and practitioners to share best practices, innovative teaching methodologies, and research findings that contribute to the development and improvement of Medical Education. In 2023, the APMEC celebrated its 20th anniversary, with nearly 1,000 medical and healthcare professionals from 40 countries attending the conference, both in person and virtually. In today’s fast-paced world, it is vital to identify novel and effective approaches to teaching and learning. The theme for APMEC 2024 is, “Artificial Intelligence in Health Professions Education –Trends. Strategies”. The conference will be organized by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau.
