WHAT ARE THE NHS BANDS AND HOW MUCH DO THEY PAY?

The NHS Bands is part of a unified pay scale system if you work within UK National Health Service (NHS).

To become a UK registered nurse you need to register with the UK Nursing & Midwifery Council (htps://www.nmc.org.uk ) For this you need a BSC in Nursing and pass an English Proficiency Test - IELTS Academic 7 in listening, reading and speaking, and 6.5 in writing OR pass the OET in Nursing (min. 350 in listening, reading and speaking, and 300 in writing).

If you pass the registration process wit the NMC you get a Pin No. and start their process. Apart from work and character references, you can do your Computer Based Test (CBT) in your home county and then take the OSCE practical in the UK. T

The possibilities of getting work in the UK for a registered nurse with at least 2 yrs experience and a pass at CBT, are extremely high - I estimate you have a 95% certainty of getting work for the NHS. You enter at Band 5 level.

Read https://www.nhsbands.co.uk/ for a further explanation on NHS bands with links to show your take home pay.

If you get your Pin No and pass the CT you can start at Band 5 in the NHS earning over £30,000 per year ( 11,895,000 Sri Lankan rupees or 2,070,000 Philippine pesos)

This underlines the need for you to train to get good English scores.

WHAT IS THE BEST ROUTE FOR A REGISTERED NURSE WITH A DEGREE?

If you are a registered nurse in your home country AND have a BSc in Nursing, the best thing to do is

1. Take the OET (Occupational English Test) in Nursing. You need at least 350 in listening, reading and speaking and at least 300 in writing. (if you have 6.0 or 6.5 in IELTS this should be achievable with a little training). If you get this you can then register with the Nursing & Midwifery Council ( https://www.nmc.org.uk ), get a PIN number and take your Computer Based Test (CBT).

2. Apply to ECCTIS ( https://www.ecctis.com ) to get your BSc in Nursing validated so that the degree can be considered to the same level as a UK degree. The UK des not recognise your degree qualification unless it has been validated by ECCTIS. Not only that you get an English Language Proficiency Statement.

Whilst UK Visas & Immigration do not accept the OET in Nursing as proof of English proficiency they do accept the ECCTIS English language proficiency statement.

Do all this and you can avoid taking IELTS which is super hard to get a 7.0.

You can then enter the NHS at Band 5 with a minimum salary of £30,000 per year.

If you have at least 2 years' experience as a registered nurse, apply through us by completing the form at https://www.jobsabroad.lk .

HOW CAN I TRUST YOU?

On rare occasions I get asked "How can I trust you?"

For me this raises red flags. People who don't trust are the least trustful, And given that I am presenting you to my clients, with this question I am hesitant to do so.

For the record I have a UK registered company called "Overseas Healthcare Recuitment Ltd" which was registered in May 2023. I don't charge the applicant for my services, and whilst I do my best to help you comply with UK Visas & Immigration, give free advice to the best of my ability, I cannot guarantee you a sponsorship.

Our process of selection enables us to offer UK Sponsors a pool of candidates from which they can select an applicant that best suits their needs. The best thing you can do is to answer our questions in a timely manner and provide the supporting documentation we require respecting all dead-lines.

I spend 1,000s of Pounds in marketing - cold email campaigns, a postal campaign to the top 1,500 care homes, attending trade fairs with a stand, advertising in digital and printed care media..

So if you ask "How can I trust you?" I prefer to represent applicants who have faith in us, rather than those that don't. To concentrate on those that are compliant so we can assist them to the best of our ability. And for the untrustful they will receive encouragement from us to go elsewhere.
