What is Breast Cancer??🎀

Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast.

According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early, and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%. Early detection includes doing monthly breast self-exams, and scheduling regular clinical breast exams and mammograms. It is recommend to learn more about breast self examination to increase chances for early detection.🙂

Types of breast cancer include ductal carcinoma in situ, invasive ductal carcinoma, inflammatory breast cancer, and metastatic breast cancer.

In general, there are five treatment options, and most treatment plans include a combination of the following: surgery, radiation, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapies. Some are local, targeting just the area around the tumor. Others are systemic, targeting your whole body with cancer fighting agents.🤛

The early goal of Breast Cancer Awareness Month was to educate women about breast cancer and early detection tests so that they could take charge of their breast health. 🙍‍♀️One of their key goals that they wanted to achieve was to promote mammograms as an important tool to be used in the fight against breast cancer.😊

Mithuri is one of the combined oral contraceptive pills vastly used in Sri Lanka.
This includes Ethinylestradiol (which is an oestragen hormone) & Levonorgestrel (which is a progesterone hormone).💊

මෙහි ප්‍රධාන භාවිතයන්
1. For the purpose of contraception (අනවශ්‍ය ගැබ්ගැනීම් වළක්වා ගැනීම)
2. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding ( ගර්භාශීය අධිරුධිර වහනයන් වළක්වා ගැනීම)
3. As a treatment of hormonal imbalances ( හෝමෝන අසමතුලිතතාවන් සඳහා ප්‍රතිකාර වශයෙන්)

Mechanism of action
* Inhibit ovulation
* Thickening the cervical mucus
* Thinning the endometrium ( inner lining of the uterus)

මේ ආකාර තුනෙන්ම ඩිම්බයක් හා ශුක්‍රාණුවක් සංසේචනය වැළැක්වීම මෙමඟින් සිදු කරයි.🙂

1. It should be started at the very first date of the menstruation. (ඔසප් වීම ආරම්භක දිනයේදීම භාවිතය ආරම්භ කළ යුතුයි.
2. Make a habit of having the pill everyday same time. (සෑම දිනයකම එකම වේලාවට/bed time මෙය ලබාගත යුතුයි.)
3. If you missed a pill take it as soon as possible. (එක් දිනයකදී අමතක වුවහොත් මතක් වූ සැනින් එය ලබාගන්න.)
4. If you missed two days in a row you can get two pills at a time but need to use a barrier method like condom.

නියමාකාරයෙන් මිතුරි භාවිතයෙන් අනවශ්‍ය ගැබ්ගැනීම් වළක්වා ගත හැක.මෙය ප්‍රධාන වාසියකි.නමුත් මෙහි අවාසිද නැතුවාම නොවේ. නීරෝගිමත් menstrual cycle එකක් තිබෙන අයෙකු mithuri ගන්නාවිට පිටින් හෝමෝන ශරීරය තුලට ලබාගැනීම නිසා automatically ශරීරය තුළ hormone imbalance එකක් ඇති වේ. මේ නිසා cycle එක irregular වීම ඇතුළු තවත් side effects ගණනාවක් ඇති විය හැක.

වාසි අවාසි තේරුම් ගෙන භාවිත කිරීමෙන් සෞඛ්‍යමත් දිවි පෙවතකට මඟ පාදයි.😊
